SMC, solenoid install with progressive controller issues

Hey guys, so my problem is everything works flawlessly, until the pump builds too much pressure in the lines, when the pump quits working from the pressure, it doesnt let the solenoid engage. I have the solenoid wired to a constant power and the ground hooked up to the pump so when the pump kicks on the solenoid opens. the controller is powered by a relay setup to draw power from the battery, its engaged by the cigarette lighter for the key on. any help or input will be MUCH appreciated!
