Do I have to use the really thin clear line or can I use some of the same black vaccum lines that my vaccum lines are made up of.

Make sure it fits snug over the nipples. It shouldnt matter if its rubber or the clear plastic. The heat from the engine bay is usually not as friendly on the clear stuff and most of the black rubber stuff is oil/gas resistent.

I would recommend the black hose for sure. The clear just doesn't hold up as good as the black hose does IMHO. It gets too soft when it gets warm/hot and it's too stiff when it's cold.:toobad:

Are you talking about the standard nylon line for your boost gauge? That is what I am using. You can also use a copper tubing kit, I have a buddy who runs his like that. The nice thing about using gauge lines is that they bolt onto the back of the gauge and you won't have to worry about it leaking. With standard rubber vacuum line you can't do that (at least not that I know of). Here are some gauge tubing kits from Summit Racing: http://www.summitracing.com/search/brand/auto-meter/Product-Line/Auto-Meter-Tubing-and-Line-Kits/

I've had no problems with heat and cold using the sorta clear white stuff. Polyethylene tubing I think it is. It's cheap, and doesn't kink too easily. just make sure you have the right inside diameter.

Yeah, you're ok with the clear/white and the nylon tubing like 9!'clipseDOHC is talking about. The kind I don't like is super clear cheap ass like aquarium pump tubing. I just thought the op was talking about that kind since everyone was talking about clear line early in the thread.

Sorry if I caused any confusion.

thank evreyone for their input

im going to be ordering one of those8.00 kits from summit racing

I've have good luck with using barbed fittings on the back of the gauge and using rubber line. Either configuration gets the job done. I like having everything uniform under the hood though.
