So im looking to buy some cams and ive came upon some SIM (strictly import performance) 275 cams. Anyone ever used these, or have any experience with them?

A link would help. And I'm going to say no. So many other choices. FP,FFWD,Comp,Kelford,GSC,HKS etc

has anyone used these?? they look like a good cheap price, just cause its cheap doesn't meet its shit. does it??

I am an owner of Strictlyimportmotorsports and we use the same vendor for our cams as ffwd. I am flowing 50lbs a min at 7k on 23 psi.. There pretty nasty cams..

how about the gains of it vs the 272 0r 280's i really like these and the price is great. just want to make sure i know what im getting myself into.. LOL have any video?? would love to hear an eclipse not just the one on their site

Ya I have some videos of my car at the track.. We are going to upload some videos once we go through them and find some good ones. They are pretty aggressive. You want to match your cam to your set up.. A smaller framed turbo I would stick with a 272 but if you need to get that top end moving then go alittle bigger. The car continues to pull on the holset with the cams. I am going to try some different set ups from Delta and find what I like the best. 12.1 at 118( 23 psi) with a 1.85 60 foot. I need some better tires so I can get off the line.

Point blank, in October I'll have a set of these installed on my 1G!

How about some simple effective duration numbers (duration at .05"/1mm lift) and a cam card stating the centerline timing. That's what we need. Not this cam saw Xlb/min with my specific setup. I've seen similar results in flow with hks 264 cams. . .

. . .In fact. get the basic profile graph up if you want to sell these cams. . . Or don't if you want to sell them to to the bobos who look at just 1 or two numbers. The ramp rate (duration at various lifts) are important. . . If you want to sell them you need to post the specs. Even if they are less "favorable" than other cams. It's not like we don't know that it's a culmination of many cam specs that make a good cam for a certain build, not just "big here" and "big there". . . Look at the kelford 272s. they clearly lose lowend grunt vs. other 272s, just to get a big peak HP number. No one's falling for it, because a good grind for your setup and goal is a good grind for your setup and goal. Bobos are always weeded out with a car culture that has been around for 2 decades ;)

I have a set of the 275's from SIM installed on my 2g. The guys over at SIM are good guys. I had a couple of issues and they took care of it quick! I dont have any numbers on the cams yet, I decided to upgrade to a larger turbo (Precision 6152s ) with a T3 Shearer Fab Manifold & O2 housing and I'm in the process of tuning it. I can say the idle is great... The only thing is I didnt get a cam card for degreeing...Is there any way you can email me a copy?

This is meaningless. I went 52lb/min on fp2's at 23psi. So does that mean they are better? Nope. Like dsm monster said we need a cam card and more details.

Just called them and he is sending me a fresh cam card tomorrow.

Please post the card once it arrives or at least give those interested the ability of receiving it via PM. Like several members have already stated, the best thing to do is to put it all out there and let the chips fall where they may. Also, would these require running upgraded springs/retainers? I know some 272s can get by without it but I'm not trying to overlook important details.

I was informed it would be wise to run the upgraded springs/retainers. I am keeping my revs down to about 7500k untill I upgrade.

Ya I was talking to delta about the cams and he said the ramp rate is to aggresive for a stock spring. We had a local install them and had nasty "lifter tick" because the spring/valve couldn't get back up in time I am guessing or his lifter were garbage. That car had alot more problems than just that though and he sold it off before we figure out the culprit. I have them installed in my car with manley springs and titanium retainers and have a little tick at a low idle but nothing with good oil pressure and a 1k rpm idle. I won't be able to post it until after 3. Thats when I am getting to the shop.

Awesome! It looks like things are coming along favorably.

how bout u guys send me a free pair and i will let everyone know how they feel. :)

I would like to get some info on these as well because.....well how can you go wrong at that price

We are trying to get this cam card ASAP. The company that does the grind for us wifes been in the hospital, so we are hoping to have it Monday. We are sorry about the wait.

I will also offer this only to DSMTUNERS all of our cams 264's, 272's, 275's, and 280's. I will sell them for 245.00 plus core so thats a 5 dollars savings on the 275's and a 35 dollar savings on the others. Pm me for more info. Thanks Allen @ SIM

is a 20g to small for a 275?

I posed this same question to a very reputable DSM'er here and he informed me that anything in the 270s with a 20G is fine. If you'd like to know how, please PM me and you can discuss the technical aspect of the discussion with him.
