Help me shut this kid up he loves to tell me how fast his stock auto SS is and i need to shut him up!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got a 98' GSX stock right now but wat do i need to shut him up please help me :D

get a big16g, exhaust, fmic, 550cc, s-afc,and boost it like a motha. or get the nos, i like building everything up first.

LOL doesent anybody stay on topic these days :p

well i guess you should start with the stage 1 stuff in the tuning guide and free mods. test out your car after all this and see if you think/know you can beat him and then go for it :thumb:

jesus, do like jim said. get exhaust and a wet kit and kill him.

Drop ur exhaust after the downpipe, do all the freemods possible for 2Gs (i'm not sure how many there are), go buy a MBC and a boost gauge, put some race gas in ur ride, crank the boost up to 20 and smoke him. After the race u'll still have ur boost gauge and mbc which u should already have if u have a turbo car, and just reconnect ur dp and turn the boost back down.

Umm sorry guys but I happen to have a modded 80 trans am with 400 pontiac,a 96z28 vert and a 99 modded trans am ram air.
So is this guys car and ls1..or lt1..ls1 are 98 to 2002 and lt1 are 93 to 97.
Ls1 are quite a bit faster stock.
My vert at track with minor mods did 14.3 at 95mph with a 2.18 60ft on drag radials.Could have easily hit a 13 if would have done a nice burnout with the tires, didn't bother. Now on the street can do similar times ,actually track is usually more slippery than the street ,our track anyway.
My 92 talon awd did a about a 14.6 at 98mph with a 2.24 60ft on damp roads. This is taken with my tazzo computer and correcting it to track time.I took it down the track to calibrate it.Its like a g tech. The talon had apex downpipe ,no cat and catback and had my 14b boosted up.Hardly a match for my camaro even let alone the ls1 which does mid to high 13s on the street.

Now with an amazing 1.8 or less 60ft then the talon could also have gone into the 13s and it could have been a close race for my other cars.

Anyway awd should give you advantage out of the hole. But the v8 might run you down and pass you by after that.Talons with stock turbos just arent all that fast.Thats why I put in a 50 trim in my talon. :)

before I sold my 97 gsx all I had was an apexi n1 down pipe and apexi n1 catback, greddy type-s bov and I ran side by side with a new trans am ws6 on the street. Throw an intake, remove the plastice piece behind the stock sidemount and get a cheap ass manual boost controller and a gauge would be nice so you know what your doin. You will put that ls1 to shame. Good luck and let us know what you do and what happens. :thumb:

HAHA, thats funny..talons arent fast with stock turbos...ohhh man....my 13.1 with stock 14b would eat your camaros...have before and will continue too....not much of a challenge....You must be another guy that bolts a big A$$ turbo on cause thats all you know how too do....ohh well keep tryin.... :thumb:

Hey Gorb..I like talons..I have one..Mabye my stock turbo was sick. But coudn't get anywhere near the times you get out of it.Also at 1900 feet above sea level. And anyway 13s are no big deal. Most of friends modded ls1 cars are in the 12s at least on drag type tires.Course they will be slower on the street on street rubber althought the new nitto drag radials are pretty street friendly.I tried a set and they dead hooked on my approx 325 engine hp lt1.Wonder what they would do on our talons.
Anyway 92 you give me hope my new 50 trim will turn some good numbers.Guess time will tell.Be tracking it next season.
And hey the 14b was a decent little turbo for sure.I also assume you were running race gas?

And just want to say I like my talon and my birds and camaro. And I get a lot of compliments in the camaro and trans am and a few but nowhere near as many in the talon.I think because there are so many talons out here.Almost like mustangs.Very common.

Also you should update your profile..it shows like 13.4 on there. And my mildy modded ls1 can do mid thirteens at our altitude ,it can easily hit 12s with decent drag type tires and its mph is like 108 corrected to sea level. And we had a white awd talon at the track running mid 15s.My lt1 vert destroyed it with a 14.3.Should have kept that time slip. But I had drag radials on the vert that day.

Wow you got some harsh elevation to work with..... OMG I am lucky here less then 800 feet...lucky me.....yah thats what i meant was with street tires, with good tires a camaro would do better....i just love my talon cause i can run my best time on the street....hehe.. Ummm nope no race gas, just chevron 94 octane....Have you tryed BFG drag radials??? have a buddy with 69 camaro around 350hp and on the street with 4'11 gears it hooked awsome... :thumb:

Yeah agree with most of what you said.I am thinking of getting new et drag radials for my vert and 99 at the track.See how the talon does on pure street tires.Actually going to try my snow/ice radials here they work good at the track in the talons.

I don't really know how fast my car will be now.I am just today finishing up the install of my new AGP RS49 50 trim.I also have some hks 264/272 cams to install but not sure if should until get some new valve springs. Then still need a good fmic and if still not happy a intake and spray.I mod hell out of all my vehicles usually. Its costly but its a hobby right?
I am an old guy and grew up on the old muscle cars..first car was a bandit ta.I am 46.
My current pontiac 400 80 ta is a torque monster and has run high 13s on street tires ,severely traction limiited.

Anyway I think we can all agree our talons are great bang for the buck. They can also be very expensive to keep running. But like I said its a hobby right? Yeah I would kill for 800 feet above sea level. Our density air is usually more like 3000 feet above sea level.
Last time at the track there was a wrx and a srt 4 but didn't see either hit even 14s.
Of course when you are talking manual cars driver skill is a big part of it.You are good to get the times you do out of the 14b.So I would think that something had to be wrong with my old 14b.I am pretty sure it had serious seal leaks ,It didn't blow oil but it seems it wouldn't hold the boost.

not really. from a stop u can beat a camaro (on the street mind you, might be hard to beat one on slicks at the track), with a big 16g, full turbo back, and a boost controller...maybe some weight reduction.

Well in my city of 200,000 people there are maybe ten ls1 camaros and firebirds and not that many lt1 fourth gens either. And even less verts. My 96 is a vert and my 99 trans am is ram air model.
There are quite a few third gens, not many seconds left and hardly any firsts.
There are tons and tons of talons..although not all are likely awd turbos ,lots of 1g and 2 g talons here. And tons and tons of 5.0 and newer mustangs.
To really be a bit more rare you need a vette or viper or twin turbo supra but just making a point.I think my talon is great looking car and it was fun with the stock turbo with a few tweaks and it should be big fun with my rs 49 50 trim that I just installed yesterday and I do expect it to give a few of my fourth gen birds and camaro buds a good scare and maybe a few wins especially off the line. But with a good set of heads, cam and long tube headers and minor bolt ons most lt1 and ls1 cars can hit 450 to 500 engine hp with slightly less torque. And they can run back to back passes all day except the stock rear end can be a weak link in the manual cars. The autos seem to be able to use the stock rear end.

I wish mits or dodge would make a nice two door awd turbo car.The neon srt 4 is ok but only offered four door I think and the wrx and sti are pricey but high tech but only also offered in 4 door.Whats up with that.I think the 1g and 2 g were great looking cars.Thats why I plan on keeping mine for quite awhile.

All I am also saying is the v8 camaros and birds ,fourth gens are not slouches even stock
they came with 275 plus hp stock and ls1 are generally around 350 actual engine hp higher than the ratings. When I threw on a set of nitto drag radials for awhile on my vert it was anhililating all sorts of 4 wheel drive jeeps and trucks and stuff. Those cars need traction help bad.
Our awd talons can rock on street tires. Both the fourth gen f bodies and the talons are good. And after owning both reliablility is much higher on my fourth gens.96 had to get a new water pump and went thru clutch on the 99 but it was my own fault racing it too much.Thats it.
My talon is a much longer list. But the talon is also a 92 and has more miles. Its a hobby right?? And in winter when my muscle cars are sleeping as they suck to drive in the wet, snow and ice the talon is worth its weight in gold. And I have have huge fun with it.It sounds like a litte jet..!!
