Alright, so I haven't really posted much but I get a ton of info from this and many other sites. I have been searching for help on this issue I am having with my 95 Eagle Talon tsi awd. I just got done putting in a TRE stage 2 trans with a stage 2 south bend clutch. My issue that I am having is that when making a turn from one road to another the car shudders and bucks, feels like its right below my seat. I also noticed that when backing up it feels as though the car doesn't want to roll very easy. The things I'm looking at is center diff and the transfer case. I really do not want to pull the trans again if I can help it. Anyone else have this issue?

Is this a new trans purchased directly from TRE, or a used trans?

If this is a new rebuild directly purchased from TRE, contact them directly. If this is a used trans, you may want to have someone inspect it.

Was the matching transfer case used?

Its a used one I pulled from a parts car. I used the transfer case from my car because the splines were the same, didn't think that would matter?

the 95-96 and 97-99 transfer cases both have the same spline count. The 95-96 have a 23/25 tooth count. The 97-99 have a 27/29 tooth count.

Both cars are 95s with 23 splines. Should I switch the transfer cases and see if that works?

It definitely feels like something is binding up, and I really...REALLY hope I don't have to pull the trans again. I would think if it was the center diff I would feel it more in the steering. I'll try the transfer case and see what happens

Check your carrier bearing mount bolts. I helped a friend do his clutch once and he had a similar issue after a few miles. We were convinced the tranny or some driveline piece was at fault, but the carrier bearing bolts had sheared off (the bolts were apparently not fit for reuse, lesson learned.) and the axle and bearing were getting bound and jammed on turns. Just my optimistic 2 cents. It would be nice if it wasn't the trans :)

They are completely reusable and they are specific to this location. They have a blunt end.
