He's gonna go from a muscle car to a GS... He could throw twice as much money at it and not be as fast as the cobra.

A friend of mine has a '96 Cobra and it's dipping into the 11's with just $2000 worth of parts, also running stickies in the back and a big shot of squeeze. Too bad it's tipping the scales close to 4000lbs, correct me if I'm wrongbrknDSM said:I'd say grow a joe dirt mullet and keep the CobraA friend of mine has a '96 Cobra and it's dipping into the 11's with just $2000 worth of parts, also running stickies in the back and a big shot of squeeze. no way in hell a 96 cobra is close to 4K... 3500 at the most unless its got a stupidly huge system in it. even then it wouldn't run 11's unless its got a shot big enough to hurt the motor.
nitrous is unsafe blah blah you cant spray that much, i always hear that crap from people who dont use it and dont understand setups.JOEY A said:Um no
You really arnt around alot of nitrous guys, V8s can handle very large shots on stock motors.

My good freind was hitting his Fbody LS1 with a 200shot for over 3 years, and the car was spray alot. The car has even seen a 250shot, its currently being torn down and being built as a blower car.
Mike, was hitting his cobra with a 175 shot, and hit it with a 200shot and took it fine.
Nitrous is good when you know what your doing, PS LS1s have seen 300shots on stock bottum ends. Now thats is over the edge pushing it, but the motors are capable of taking it,and the TQ numbers are huge!
V8s love spray, all you need to do is set it up right and know what your doing
JOEY A said:Yeah maybe he isnt a BUTSWINGER, how cheap do you think it really is to do a 6 bolt swap?! Be done with what hes buying a 100,000 mile dsm you really think this guy isnt going to have problems!
The cobra has 54,000 miles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That GSX is junk compared to a really nice clean cobra with low miles, Cobras hold there value.
Man there is so much after market support for fords its not even funny, ever look at a performance mag for those cars? It will hurt you head all the shops and parts you can buy.
Anything you want is there, and the parts arent to much they are reasonable, I would throw a Prochager on that stang.
just plan sucksSRTthis said:wow your gunna actully try to argue with me on something i know more then ANY one here on.
96-98 4v bottoms ends can not handle that kinda power. can some get away with it? yes... can all of them? nope. there just like the GT bottom end but with flat top pistons to raise the compression with the lager CC combustion chamber. the 03/04 is a diffrent monster all together. they are ARP studded with mahle pistons and manley rods from the factory.
so to correctly set it up for that kinda shot you would need to run a SCT maf or MAFia. which is fairly new. they older style maf's are not as forgiving to peggin as the new ones are.
LS1's are completly diffrent then 4v mod motors. they can handle spray quite well. also a 98 is the first year of the returnless style fuel system. which up till now really didnt have a good option for fuel pumps when you maxed them.
also you say V8's love spray. how bout you give me a nitrous kit you set it up on my truck and after i blow the motor the first time i spray it you pay for that too...
v8's loving spray is a pretty genreal statement. which coveres ALOT of v8 motors that cant take a hit of nitrous.
and this is coming from a guy who loves nitrous. my 95 GT had nitrous. but some motors cant handle it as well as others... ford mod motors (03/04 4v and the new 3v excluded) dont take it as well as other ones.
PERIOD
I was making my statments in general terms, I should have made it more clear and less miss inforumed.
