well i have a thread opened called 330 miles, rod knock. so the engines coming out AGAIN after i get back from my business trip in march. the machinist is covering the repair costs but not removing the engine. thats on me. im getting a e3 16g,3" exhaust, and fmic while the engines out and the mani is with me so i can port and polish the shit out of it. everything will be set when i drop the (hopefully) repaired engine back in.
question is, my goals are 350 to maybe 400 horse. should i get a set of 264's or 272's? i want to be able to make power up a little bit higher in the rpm range but never exceed 7k. im thinking the 272's would be a good balance of low end and top and the 16g could benefit slightly from them. whats u guys take on it? im going to have the timing belt off any way so its not too much extra work to put on new cams. i doubt the machinist will even have to remove the head. im making 180psi exactly on all 4 cylinders. hes prob just going to recut the crank and put in new rod bearings. the rod knock is VERY light but i know it will get worse and want it taken care of before it tears up anything else.
