Just the fenders is not enough to hold the bumper.
And this is how big the core is.

A smaller core like mine fits perfect, kept my crash beam and bumper. Again never known anyone to have a setup with no crashbeam, bumper is just hanging.

Off topic but before the FMIC if and i say if cause i do not know.... I would take care of those oil looking stains under where you park before changing parts just because you don't like them. Like i said i do not even know if they are yours.... If the intercooler works then fix the leaks first :thumb:

The leaks are from where I had to loosen the lower radiator hose to turn the clamp and it leaked coolant. Other spot is not mine.

Also im asking about the setup I posted earlier not a short route setup.

Anybody here that has ran the setup I posted a few posts up?

I have. And it sucks anus. I purchased the car with that one on it. The bumper has no support unless you buy a custom race support. I've since switched to a short route fmic, that lets me retain my bumper support with slight modification.

Thank you as this is what I have been kinda figuring. Guess its either punishment or vrsf then.

The crash beem on 1ga's hold the bumper up...
That's not the case with 1gb's since the bumper bolts up to the core support.

Yes I have read your posts. I just don't have that much to spend on a kit right now. I busted my fmic the other day and am just trying to get it going again.

But I have found a way I can run this big core and keep my crash beam. I just have to loop the charge pipe around the radiator support and back through the inner fender beside the ofh.

I see what your saying. I think I may be able to basically mimic the jmf race bumper using the stock bumper. I believe I have figured out how to do the piping also.

Its crooked because I have to enlarge the hole on the passenger side a little and then it will bolt up nice and tight.

Im curious what's the inside louvers look like on that Front mount?

I understand What you are talking about with routing your pipes, I've actually done it on another car before that way. Also seen it done a similar way on a couple other cars. It's Still far from Ideal... but works if you get the piping that goes to that kit and modify it so it goes that way on the drivers side
one of the Biggest problem is getting all the pipes to line up correctly.

But The Most important thing is to Bead All The PIPING Here is a link Click here with DIY how to if you don't have the cash to have a shop do it... Also in regrades to the GM maf and UICP If you get the piping kit you can use a 2g TB elbow and just cut down the pipe to it and it will fit... .I might have some old pics of it setup like this if it helps...

You shouldn't haven't have a hard time picking up the piping kit for that Real Cheap...

I will be running a "long route". I was un able to keem my bumper support. My bumper hangs just fine. Just hope I don't rear end some one. All I need now is the snail and im good to go.

I just talked to a good buddy of mine and he is going to sell me his complete dejon short route kit for 200 including the intercooler. The dejon core you can't buy anymore and I know when dejon was selling that kit it was around 900 bucks.

So I am just going to go ahead and pick that up today and be done with it.

:thumb:You will be WAY happier in the End over the long route...

Yeah they don't sell a kit or a core anymore but you still can get their Short route piping

Yea. I've seen the kit before that im buying from him and its really nice. Its already setup for gmmaf. The core is 28x11x3 so it should be plenty for a while. Better quality too so its a no brainer.

That's a long route SSauto/ebay kit that's been modified the second way I was talking about before??? Clearance under the pre Ic pipe isn't very good that way... It.s better to route it Imo to go farther around the below because of this.
why do you ask?

I was able to get this 2g core bolted up securely to the car with very little modifications.

Now I am just waiting on my pipe to get here. Anyway here are some pictures of the 2g core on my 90.
