I decided to shorten up the path that it took from my turbo to my intercooler so I made a few adjustments. I made a couple cuts in the J-pipe. 1 in around the flange and one in the bend. I figured out what angle I needed then tacked and welded them. Off of the J-pipe is a straight pipe with a bend at the end which goes right into the intercooler. Let me know what you guys think.

im just wondering how are you going too fit 2 or even one fan there?
are you running them on the outside radiator{} fans{}fmic ?

im only asking becouse i was also running my old set up like you are now but i didnt cut my j pipe it was just a regular pipe off the stock turbo j pipe coming across the rediator to the fmic pipe, and for me to fit my flex-a-lite fans i pushed the pipe in to the mani/ the fans in to the radiator fins,
and the results was melted couplers and burnt pipe/ bent rad fins.

just my 2cents.
great work, you can go places knowing how to weld.

Well I have been driving it for about a week now and haven't had any problems and the coupler has been holding up fine. I actually do have one of the stock radiator fans in there. If you look in pictures 1 and 2 you can see the tip of it on the far left side. I am thinking about getting 2 slim fans but don't know if its worth that much money because the 1 fan seems to be doing fine. So far so good although I do need a heatshield for the manifold which I am in progress of purchasing.

yes i do see it.
i didnt even look at it that good but yeah i do see it.
honestly if i was you i would keep that stock fan where you have it and get one singel slim fan and use it as a puller.

i really liked the free space that i got after the j pipe was in betwen the radiator and the manifold.
with your welding skills im sure you can make your own piping

i had just one fan on my radiator (faster for me to change my alt and other misc things) in the summer with temps up to 100. though i never got stuck in bumper to bumpers traffic. Just make sure thermostat is good, good flushing and a nice coolant mix.

I totally agree on the space change that has made. Also, I never thought of getting just one slim fan. Not a a bad idea...thanks :thumb:

Very nice lookng setup. You may want to put a small pusher fan on the AC condensor or other side of radiator so you cans till run your AC without heating up too much in the summer months.

Yeah that does sound like a good idea. Are you talking about just a slim fan or something else?
I am also thinking about ceramic coating my exhaust manifold. Wouldn't that help out with the heat issue? I'm pretty new to DSM's and cars in general so thanks for all the feedback guys I really appreciate it.
