Hello all :)

So I am starting a shopping list. I want to get my parts here for when summer hits so I can have some fun.

I am just asking for your inputs on where to get the best deals, maybe best place to check etc. as well as what brand to get. I want to try and save some money and still have good parts :thumb:

So I will be following the upgrade paths.

First off I need some new brakes- more of a maintenance thing. Mine are old, and have rust and today while i was driving it, after it sat for all winter it will shake when I hit the brakes. Besides I want some new blue calipers, and slotted rotors.

1. Rotors-slotted, Calipers-Blue, Pads.
2. Needing a Manual Boost Controller
3. Engine Management DSM Link used one to save money would be great.
4. 650cc injectors
5. Open to Suggestions

What I currently have installed: 3" Turbo Back Exhaust, Greddy Type-S bov, Evo 3 16g Turbo,
Forgot to mention I do have a FPGSS342 Fuel Pump it came with my purchase of the Evo 3 16g from Forced Performance.

In the mail: PUNISHMENT RACING FMIC KIT: 1995-99 ECLIPSE/TALON
PUNISHMENT RACING FMIC KIT: 1995-99 ECLIPSE/TALON - Punishment Racing

Thanks again for your time all. :hellyeah:

You can get a set of brakelab rotors for 150. As far as calipers, you would have to paint or powdercoat them. You can get a set of brembo but they can be very pricey. Dsmlink is very good. The punishment fmic is good as well but the vrsf is more of a short route and cheaper. You can upgrade to a different intake pipe since the stock is restrictive.

Wanted to update what I have done and maybe get some more info.

1. Decided to get my Rotors turned, got new pads from O'Reilly's and I am going to inspect my calipers tomorrow to see if they need replacing.
2. Got Hallman PRO Boost Controller Kit -Extremepsi had a nice discount on this.
3. Also had to get a Front Bumper LOL from Ebay $80 :O

Now looking for some 650cc injectors, DSM Link, and Gauges and a Gauge holder.
Gauges I think I want/need : Boost but which one? suggestions
Wideband - again which to get?

anything else to get a gauge for?
If you think I am missing something let me know.

You guys are helping me out a lot and I appreciate it. :hellyeah:

I started out with a list like this a long...long time ago.

I think you did a smart thing and saved some money with number 1 (I think you can rebuild the calipers if needed)

I personally wish when I started that I would have gotten my Wideband earlier (I have the LC1 now) and I also wish I would have gotten a boot gauge that went over 30 psi.

When I first started I got a boost gauge, oil pressure gauge, EGT gauge and the fuel gauge that lights up but really doesnt do anything....I should have only gotten the boost gauge and a wide band which is all I currently have.

I know you dont wanna here this but you should make sure you get your timing belt/water pump and all that goes with that done first if you haven't already.

First nice choice on the boost controller you wont be dissapointed!

Do you have a fuel pump? Do you have and afpr? If not I would recommend these 2 things before the injectors or with them as a whole.

aeromotive makes a good afpr, find a used one to save some cash..

Boost gauge is very important! Just get a mechanical one like autometer or similar. Used would be best to save cash..

Wideband, I'd go AEM and just pick it up new.

Another couple questions that u might be over looking, Do you have an aftermarket intake? BOV? Intercooler Piping? If not these would probably be first on my list followed by exhaust. Good luck!

Edit very good point above about timing belt and water pump. If you havent done ALL maint. I wouldn't even consider upgrades!

Thanks for the tips Black, and yes I did do the entire timing system, all new belts for everything and pulleys, and even got a fluidampr.
Yep I got an ebay intake, a Greddy Typs-s BoV, and I have the Punishment Intercooler system on the way.
Oh and for the Fuel Pump I have a FPGSS342 Fuel Pump

Ok I just realized you have everything I listed except the afpr? Add that with the injectors if you don't have one!

This will be my DD and I was hoping for 350hp maybe a bit more. I just want to have fun with it and maybe go to the track every now and then. My friend has a Dodge Neon so we can go to the track together :p

The fuel pump FPGSS342, I think it is similar if not the same as the Walbro 255 ?

Sounds like your on the right track! Have you done a boost leak test yet? I'm assuming not because of the lack of boost guage:D Build a cheap one look on vfaq. Single most important thing thats very easy to overlook! Specially after the FMIC install.:thumb:

1. Boost gauge
2. AFPR "adjustable fuel pressure regulator"+ Injectors
3. If not done already I would rewire fp.
4. wideband
5. dsmlink

Last time I did my boost leak test was after I installed my evo 3 16g and i fixed most of the leasks, I am just waiting for throttle body and throttle body elbow gaskets to arrive so I can fix the leaks there and I should be set on all the leaks.

Yah still need an AFPR and I need to install as well as rewire for fuel pump.:thumb:

This is where experience comes in LOL.. No offense! You need an actual boost gauge to do a thorough boost leak test, you have to pressurize the system with at least the amount of boost you plan on running max. So if you want 350, thats going to be 25 or so psi at least on the 16g when your pushing it. So figure 28 psi on the boost gauge just to be sure! Your probably building 8psi and no more at this point with a few little leaks. Its good that you already have experience with the tests though because soapy water and a helper to watch the boost gauge will come in handy at this point!

Put the tester on the turbo to check the intercooler cuplings etc. Then take it a step further if you have to and put the tester straight on the tb elbow to test the tb and intake mani. Again it can be very frustrating eliminating all the leaks:ohdamn:

You should check and see if your pump is equal to a 255 or 190...if its equal to a 190 and you dont go to big on injectors you can easily get by without a FPR. Dont get me wrong if you have the money I would go ahead and get one but you dont need a walbro 255 and 1000cc inj to reach your goal. I had a 255 not rewired with 880cc inj and ran witout a FPR for 5 years or so with no issues (Its not the right way and I was running rich up top. I'm simply saying its possible if your in a bind before you decide to go bigger in power)

Edit: Would depend on the fuel you plan on running also.

Thanks for the tip Black. I will see if I can find a for sure answer to see what my fuel pump is.
Found this link. So looks like its a 255

http://www.nolimitmotorsport.com/prod/GSS342

Although, mine has no markings on it...

Is this a good wideband? http://www.extremepsi.com/store/product.php?productid=23261&cat=258&page=1

Will I need the boost gauge to include vacuum?

and one last thing the afpr there is a kit from http://www.extremepsi.com/store/product.php?productid=21515&cat=257&page=1 is this one good or is there another?

Both are good choices!!!

Good point about the fuel pump I actually did the same thing in my first dsm but then again I wasn't very clear on what I needed at the time LOL. It still ran very strong though just a little on the rich side.
