Shifter keeps getting spit out of 1st!

Ok lets see... My first gear has the lovely habit of grinding lately. 2nd gear and all the others are fine, even reverse which use to give me some trouble. Anyways, its weird, it feels just like its in first gear, but when i start letting out the clutch it sometimes pushes it out of first, and it then grinds as i usually hold the shifter. If im not holding it the shifter just sits there inbetween 1st and neutral, ready to grind if i give it a light tap forward. Now it only started doing after I took my car to RRE this summer and had them put some stuff in. They did install an ACT 2600, but i dont see how that could be the problem. A friend thinks I might be low on tranny fluid, which would make sense to me because it is a bit harder to get it into first than it used to, normally i have to put it in first and take it out a few times for it to feel smooth enough to accept the gear, although it started coming out today even when it felt perfect. Anyone else have experience with this problem? Its very annoying, Ill change my tranny fluid, I just dont see why RRE would fill it too low with the syncroshift, seems like they would know what their doing ya know. Any thoughts would be great, thanks guys!

I Have The Same Problem But Mine Spits Out The 3rd Gear.

Try swapping your tranny fluid, but it sounds like a shift fork to me.

Hmmm, RRE did put in a new shift fork, I wonder if thats it.

sounds like your first gear synchro(sp?) is going out. Mine used to do that and that ended up being the problem. Only first gear as well.

exact same thing happened to me tonight, popped right out of first. thats the first time its ever happened tho, but alot of times it feels like it wont go in smoothly, in any gear. it takes either me slamming it hard into the gear, or trying again to get it to go in
