im in the middle of building this dsm and i will bleed the clutch. about a week later when i get into the car the clutch hits the floor like no other. so i will bleed it again, feels like new. same thing happens. i have done this about 5 times. i also noticed the one day when i ripped out the carpet. it looked like clutch fluid was running down under my clutch pedal. is that my problem? where would that be comming from? i tried getting up in there but i cant find anything. and when i look under the hood i cant find any leaks. i would appreciate everyones oppinion. thank you guyes. hope to get some addvive.

ps. i posted this in another area but i dont think its the right spot so i reposted here. sorry

Replace your master cylinder.... the seals are most likely not sealing and allowing air to seep in as it seeps out fluid.

Also while you are at I strongly recommend replacing the slave cylinder AND the clutch line with a SS line.

I recommend the SS line because the 2G has a maze of lines that feed into a Reservoir. That resevoir can store air and is a real biatch to properly bleed. Just get rid of it :)

Agreee with Splitpi. The fluid leak, and well air too, is coming from the master cylinder where the pushrod on your clutch pedal pushes into the master cylinder. Your seals are leaking.
It can still hold pressure for a while but most likely, when you put just a little bit of pressure on the pedal, like right before you push it, it moves the seals JUST enough and they leak. When you push hard, they probably seal better.

The only seals on the master cylinder lead directly into the car, where you see it leaking, you wont see it leaking outside.. If you climb under your dash, you can pull back the black boot on the MC a little bit and you will see fluid leaking.

Replace the MC, bleed bleed bleed, (get the SS line too :thumb:) and you should be fine. Lets us know how it goes.
