Well my master/slave where leaking and making it all but impossible to drive my car so I went and changed those up. Went preaty straigh forward and has helped alot. But the gears are still giving me issues. I was wondering if a tranny flush would help and what tranny fluid (weight and brand) I should use. Also how do I know if my shifter cables are in good condition or not and how much would those cost to replace?

Thanks for any help,
Lyle

Can't help you on the shifter cables because I honestly have no clue. But the fluid that you SHOULD use would be either PENNZOIL SYNCROMESH or you can goto machv and buy gm syncromesh but they are basically the exact same thing.

Try using that fluid and definately make sure you change your tranny + transfercase fluids and that should clear up the "knotchy shifting".

I saw on slowboyracing BG syncromesh II and says its good for higher milage trannies anyone have any expericance with it?

Make sure you overbleed this system. When you think you have all the air out you don't....bleed it to death.

Syncromesh will do fine.

The price for the Pennzoil Synchromesh sounds good to me. Now I just need to find out how much a power steering cable is since mine decided to leak out yesterday, at least I hope it was just the line. Ah well guess Ill have to jack the car up and check that a bit later today.
