So I got a Megan Short Shift kit from Extreme PSI for Christmas after reading decent reviews about it, anyway when I went to install it in my 2g, I could no longer get into 2nd, 4th, and reverse, 1-5 seemed a little rough too. I followed the B&M installation directions since they appear to be the exact same product but nothing. Just wondering if anyone else had a similar issue. Also the only cable that I can adjust is the one farthest to the left. Any help would be great, otherwise I may just have to send it back and try a new one...

B&M Edge Short Shifter Instructions
These are the instructions I used and here are the photos, I have plenty of room at the base, the cable just doesn't seem to want to move forward when shifting it just binds. There are also three steel washers that aren't used for some reason.

Well for one thing, someone modified your shift cables to be adjustable because 2g's aren't adjustable from the factory. (Referring to the coupling nuts) I can't say exactly how to adjust them though, since I've never had the option to.

K. Well they still aren't adjustable in original OEM form. Try adjusting them anyhow

How did your kit come? Mine came with a crapload of hardware, ended up only using half of the stuff... and even then that was excessive. Oh but mine was made by MiragePower, not Megan.

Overall happy with the $44 spent

the pivet bolt between the purple base and lever should have locktight on the lever side or else it will move no matter how tight it is on the other side.

when i had mine i had to grind the bottom and use the top linkage hole. if you say it doesn't hit on the bottom then at least thats one less problem. also on the trans side you can use scare board bearings (get them off ebay) they really tighten the shifter feel along with the homedepot base bushings.

go back to the stock shifter just to make sure its not your car that has the problem and with that checked off reinstall and see if anything changes.
