When I was wiring in my new cluster, I took out my radio and vents for accessibility and stumbled across this stray plugin. Couldn't find anywhere for it to go, was wondering what this goes to? Was near the ecu but all the plugins for that were in etc

What brand shifter is it/does it look like? Is this a short shifter? not too good with suspension/shift mods

Is this for my voltage regulator to the cluster? My new one I was told didn't come one, I was wondering where they're located/how to wire it in? I know what they do and that's about it. It is taped off basically

Also can't get power to the starter for some reason, messed with my turbo time to get more room out of it but it works. The radio and cluster get no power, is there a fuse for that? Wipers work but no power to the engine

- I don't see anything in my diagrams with a white connector that has 16 wires in that area (dash, instrument, and floor console).
- Does it only have 16 pin slots (for those 16 wires) or are there more?
- Does it look non-stock?

looks stock to me, it has 16 wires but more than 16 pin slots
thats weird, 15 or 16

How many pin slots total (with or without wires - the connectors are listed by number of possible pin slots - not by number of wires)?

this is where it comes from, this is on the passenger side under the armrest/shifter. splits out of the wires going to the other stuff from your last post

Ok I found it (now that I know it's an 18 pin connector (not 16) and your pic with the wires showing clinched it). It's the connector that goes into the stock Infinity amplifier under the passenger seat. If you're not using that amp you can leave it disconnected.

Thats what i was thinking. Any insight on the voltage regulator plugin from the original pictures?

Your dimmer switch (you call voltage regulator) is behind the dimmer knob but that connector looks about right. It should be a 4 pin inline connector with 3 wires on it - black with yellow stripe, black, and green with white stripe. To test dash lights, jumper the black with yellow stripe wire to the black wire (which is ground) on the harness side plug. The dash lights should now go on full when taillights are on.

When you find out just how expensive a new 2g dimmer is (which is different than the 1g one), you may decide to just stay with this fix (or go used).
