shift cables interchangable??

I have a 95 tsi nd the forward backward cable is trashed, but the side to side cable is good. Do i need the cable to be outta a 95 or can i use any 2g turbo shift cable? Think the Ebay ones are junk??

Any 2g turbo cable will work. So long as it's a genuine OEM replacement cable, eghey should be okay. I try to steer clear of off-brand products.
