Hey guys i ran into a small problem when installing my bse kit the other night and see how you guys would handle it. when my socket had gotten stuck in the bearing forcing me to have to grind it down to get the socket back out. now i have a small amount of shavings from the cutting inside the motor. the motors out of the car on a stand. how would you go about making sure all of the shavings were out before installing back in the car? i was thinking about putting the oil pan and pump back on and priming the oil pump with a drill to try and pump it all out any other ideas?

Are you saying the shavings got into the oil passages that feed the balance shaft bearing?
Sounds like trouble.
I'd start by using a cotton swab, or Qtip, dipped in oil to remove as much shavings as possible. The oil soaked cotton should let the shavings stick to it so you don't push the shavings in deeper.

I wouldn't put the oil pan back on to flush the motor since the shavings might get picked up by the oil pump. I'd hold a quart jar/can of clean oil under the pickup and spin the pump with a drill to flush out the shavings. Leave the oil pan off so the contaminated oil doesn't go back through the engine.

ill try that and no the only place the shavings got was the little space after the outer most ballance shaft bearing where i grinded at my socket and some dust got on the crank
