Hello all! i have a 95 eagle talon esi andlately i have been having problems with my auto transmission.
when i first drive it in the morning it shifts perfectly without any hesitation, but after about 10 minutes of driving it it will jerk really hard and seems to stick in second gear. when i come to a stop at a light and try to accelerate, i can hear a loud clicking or popping sound coming from the drivers side. but if i put the car in neutral and turn the car off and turn it back on it will shift fine again until i start to slow down and then it will jerk again and repeat. could it be the computer? something within the transmission its self? please, any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

i had the same problem i'd go for a bit and it'd studder and not want to move, then turn it off and it'd go for a bit, anyway, long story short, the clutch dics/material thats on them are screwed, because what happened with me that stuff would sink then after driving for a few minutes the material would stir up and clog everything, hence the not wanting to do anything. then when i'd kill it, the particles would settle but then kick up again. try taking your pan off to see if you have a bunch of stuff floating around if not, could be the computer?

thanks for the advice. I'll have to check that tomorrow. suppose there is a bunch of junk in there, would a flush take care of it or should i rebuild it? im kinda new to doing anything with cars. i bought this one as kind of a starter project. thanks again :thumb:

it MAY, but that material would be part of your transmission, it might work for a while, but it might start slipping
