Last weekend i replaced a clutch on my buddies car. Everything went smooth, but one of the things i noticed was when i drained the trans i only got about half a quart of fluid out. it sat on my floor for 2 days and drained out a little more though. long story short, very black oil is leaking from between the motor and tranny. Its not his motor oil because that was just changed and is still full. his trans is still full up to the oil add hole. i was thinking maybe the output drive shaft seal, but why would the trans still be full of fluid? The clutch started slipping 3 mins or so into driving it so i am assuming that the clutch/flywheel is covered in oil. this was on a gen 3 4g64, new clutch kit, and i cleaned out the shaft area with carb clean due to pieces of the old clutch being there. thanks for any input.
