So i went to set my base timing. Just wanted to make sure I did everything correct. I have dsm link v3 but my laptop wasn’t working so I had grounded the timing pin. I have an adjustable timing light that I used because I don’t have a timing cover. Set to 5 degrees btdc. I got the cam gears lined up. Car sounds better. Basically just wanting to know if this is correct and if grounding the pin instead of doing it thru dsm link will affect it or be inaccurate. And also how do you ground the timing pin and set idle using link?
