ive been having a very serious problem with my motor mounts
got a 96 talon ESi
and this is the 4th time that ive shattered a motor mount

its mainly the trans mount, but 2 of the 4 times the rear bottom mount broke as well

what causes this? i mean its not like im throwing excessive amounts of torque to the wheels. i have an intake and cat back exhaust. im just not under standing it

thanks

First off where are you getting theses motor mounts from?? The same place??? They look a little brittle imo. If they are not OEM then I would buy OEM ones. If that doesnt work maybe you could find a solid motor mount.. your car wouldnt really be bothered by a solid mount. That is if they make one for your car.. I looked but couldnt find one. And yeah there is no reason your car should be shattering mounts like that. :notgood:

If the car's been in an accident and the frame has been tweaked you'll have this problem. It's not lining up right and putting the wrong kind of stress on the mount.

Or you could by the poly inserts and try those out.

see, i went to this one guy twice, and he told me he got the mounts straight from mitsu
then they broke
so i went to another guy, he fixed them to the tune of $655
and now they broke again
im seriously considering buying a wrangler...... :(

i was told by the previous owner that it was hit, but she didnt go into detail, i think it was rear ended tho to be honest
