motor mount?

I have a 98 gsx, which im about to pull the motor out of. Every thing is disconected except for the motor mounts. So this is my question, how do i unbolt the motor mounts? do i unbolt them from the motor or from the actual frame of the car?

both... they hold the motor to the frame of the car...

What way are you planning on taking the motor out of the engine bay. Are you taking out through the top or out through the bottom. I have always just removed them from the engine and then taken them off of the body. Just make sure to support the motor at all times as soon as you begin because you don't want to bind up the mounts and the bolts at all like I did my first time. Good luck with the engine project.

I will be pulling my motor from the top, my question is when i pull the motor, do the motor mounts stay attached to the motor or the frame?

Take the mounts off the motor and make sure it is supported with something like a cherry picker and the take the mounts off of the frame and out of the way, and then pull the motor out of the engine bay. Hope that helps.
