Hi all, I have a question for you guy's. My question is, is the upper left drivers motor mount. I have researched quite a lot of pictures and did quite a bit of research but it's very conflicting. I have a mount which goes around the engine to the front and connects to the power steering bracket. I would like to remove this heavy cast bracket seeing I have a de powerd rack now, is it ok the cut that portion of the mount off and just use the upper left portion of the mount? I have noticed other 1g's not running the mount that goes around to the front power steering mount, now I'm not sure if they are running a different mount or just trimmed the stock mount? Sorry if it's a dumb question and please bare with me, thanks in advance for all of the help.

I have thought of doing the same to my 93, however it looks like the stock bracket is not that sturdy. I bought the avid tuner series which doesn't wrap around and feels much stronger. Makes me feel a little better about beating on them instead....Hope this helps

I have sawed off that portion on my own car with no apparent ill effects. I've also seen lot's oh high hp builds do the same thing. Of course, some guy will chime in on how dare we change something the original mitsu engineers made.

Wow, you guy's are great. I will be doing some chopping on that bad boy then, as it is now, I got to fill it with some polyurethane or weld it solid of which I have yet to decide. Thanks for all the help friends I really appreciate it.

I would love to do this but everywhere I've looked only sells them for manual trans and for 6bolt or 7bolt, I have a 93 auto fwd 1g 7bolt and can't seem to find a compatible kit? Hell I would buy the poly insert kit for the manual if the motor mounts would work and just wouldn't use the trans inserts, but from what I have read the auto mounts are different from the manual mounts, so I'm clueless.
