That was directed to both you and RusherRacing, I didn't know you weren't doing another "fun car" type deal. I somehow got the impression you were.

Looks iff-y as to whether or not our local 3000TT guy will make it to the track day (he is unwilling to say for sure, citing technical difficulties), but I'm thinking he will.

I will always have a toy car of some kind. But not anything I have to wrench on. I like going fast, but I don't have enough mechanical skill to keep a modded car running. Thank gawd for my crew. They kept me going these past two years, but all of them are prepping cars of their own.

well if this is going to be your last track day, beat the living snot out of the car as it will be your last, dont hold back.

That's hard to do with my car.

First, the stroker engine makes max hp and torque at 6500, so revving the piss out of it doesn't get me anything.

Second, I've learned that the Hoosiers requifre careful driving. They stick and stick and stick and then suddenly let go. Therefore, it takes a lot of practice to find the hairy edge. Beat the snot out of it, and the Hoosiers might let go in the Kink, or some equally awful place.

Third, the Hoosiers are prone to flat spotting if ya brake too hard. Again, they stick and stick and stick under braking, then lock up if you go a smidge too far. Consequently, I can't do my normal "dive bomb the corner and stand on the brakes "routine that works so well on Toyos.

So, instead of driving the living snot out of it, to get the best lap time I have to drive it more sanely than ever--no violent, rally-type driving, no overrevving and no Banzaii braking into corners. Smooth, smooth, smooth is the name of the game with Hoosiers.

My goal at Road America is to beat the lap time of the car that won TTS at the NASA event in August--a 2:36 That would prove to any potential buyers that the car is competitive in TTS. To do that, I can't drive the piss out of it, or I might roll it up into a blue ball instead.

I retract my previous position. I now believe that Poop's car and Rusher's cars may be cursed and at the very least need to be looked at by a VooDoo witch doctor, to have the bad JuJu removed.

Otherwise, I fear dismemberment (of the vehicles, not the owners) may be the only permanant solution.
