I got 98 gst spyder with 115k on it, recently changed new clutch but that didn't work out well. Now im stuck with broken fork and possibly bad clutch. What would you guys do? Is it even worth paying for another clutch job???ROFL

I say fix it too if you have the tools and some friends make a day out of it. Especially with your being front wheel drive it's a simple bolt on. And if you just recently had the clutch put it you shouldn't have any problems taking it apart because any stubborn bolts will have been freed up. That's just what I would do, and I love working on my car.:laser:

Fix it its not that hard to do even if youve never done it before. When the trans went in my 1g i had no idea where to start. After looking at it for awhile i just started taking shit of in the way of the trans till i could take it out. Now i have a 2g and have put three trans in it i can have one out and back in in about 2hrs give or take a little. I had my 1g when i was 16 so i have learned quite a bit since than but anybody can do it if they try

A lot easier to do than GSX. It is a major drivetrain job. It can be done wrong. Do you have a moderate amount of mechanical experience and tools and as winter is lingering on an indoor garage to do it in?

and I can talk you thru the steps there are a ton of write ups on it. You can get detailed photos to walk you thru it step by step. I do like to use air tools when loosening the flywheel bolts but other than air tools it's all just a bit of heavy lifting. Vfaq has tons of info about it.

Fix it. I'm the original owner of a '97 GS-T Spyder, and I *wish* that the only thing wrong with it was the clutch.

Then again, I'm totally building every subsystem of the car up...so it really doesn't matter.

believe me i know the feeling.. im a 18 year old who got his first dsm when he was 16.. GST spyder.. 150k miles on it.. Headgasket i assumed blew at 180k.. so now rebuildign the engine.. each day it pisses me off more that the car isnt running but in the long run i think itll be worth the time and money

Fix it.. thats a easy problem compared to mine or some others =)

Promise u wont regret it :D
