Seems slow starting from first gear?

Hey all, new to the DSM scene. Anyways I bought a 1996 Eclipse GST Spyder, has a JDM front mount intercooler, injen intake, Synapse blow off valve, a cat back stainless exhaust and thats it for mods.

(I have a manual boost controller, aftermarket boost, air fuel, and oil pressure gauges ordering soon. also plan on a DSM link very soon!)

Noticed that when starting in first gear, it goes fine, then the rpms get higher and it feels like it went form a rabbit to a turtle. And then when i give it a little more gas rpms get up even higher and boost starts to kick in and then its a rocket. Not really sure what to look for, I know the BOV isnt recirculated because on the intake the little recirc valve is covered over with tape. **ALSO if anyone can give me any tips on how to go about recirc the blow off valve that would be greatly appreciated. Ill try my best to answer any questions.

2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th gear all feel fine, acceleration is normal and boost will kick in and it runs great. Just first gear. Idk if its just something i have to get used to, ive heard these cars referred to as "2nd and 3rd" gear cars. Any tips are greatly appreciated! Thanks Guys!!:hellyeah::thumb:

anyone have any ideas or tips on this?

A "Japanese Domestic Market" front mount intercooler huh....doubtful.

Anyway, the reason your car feels sluggish in 1st is probably due to one or two of two things.

1. The BOV not being recirculated without running a Blow Through Setup (You are probably unfamiliar with what this is, so just recirculate the BOV).

2. The Car is spinning the tires in 1st gear and hooks when you shift.

Recirculating the BOV is easy. Get a big piece of hose and put it between the BOV horn and Intake. If you do a search, you can find lots of threads on it.

Also, if that air/fuel gauge you are buying is without a wideband and is for a narrowband O2 sensor, you are wasting money.

You should probably go and learn a lot more before you install the boost controller and up the boost. At the very least, do a fuel pump rewire and/or a 190lph pump from an evo 8.
