First gear too slow!!!!!

I have got a 95 non-turbo talon.Every time somebody wants to race its all good as long as i can get out of first fast enough.For some reason the first gear is the slowest.Is it me or is it really the car?Anyone that has any aditional input on how to make my acceleration thruogh first gear quicker?

1st and 2nd gears should be the strongest, 1st shouldn't be the slowest even if it is n/t...I don't know what a fix would be though.

Your first gear might not be "too slow" as you say, your opponent might just have a better bottom end than your vehicle has, but you have a better mid-top end.

how about a turbo and a shutter box. you will see first gear for about .5 seconds. or maybe just get a shutter box that might help out a little

Boost it or just start off going down hills. Then it will feel faster

by slowest... do you mean the slowest accelerating, or the slowest top speed?

1st is supposed to have the slowest top speed. but its supposed to accelerate the fastest. o and stutterbox is something to do with a auto tranny, other then that i dunno, but i would like to.

a shutterbox lowers your rev limit for launching. so you just hold the gas to the floor and it will limit the rpm at 5k or where every you set it at. so all you have to do is slip the clutch. you can also get one like i have where you dont have to take you foot of the gas when shifting. that way your always at full boost.

Its 1st gear.
Its supposed to be the shortest.

I do believe you guys are meaning to talk of stutter boxes... Which build boost when you are sitting at a stand still by inducing a load on the engine.. Perhaps you need to learn to launch better..?
