phil

I didnt believe this when I read it, and my company happens to deal Sparco, so i called them up about 5 min ago. I spoke with Gabe and he assured me they are stiil selling them and they are in stock. Part # for the driver's side is 400SB135L. If your shop cant get you one, I definately can. :thumb:

thanks for all the help everyone. ill call on that tomorrow... but i think we are goin to custom fab them so i dont sit with my headliner.

WOW we are having a hell of a f#cking time. See if you can follow me on this, im a little frusterated since we've been working on these for a week now on and off.

The four bolts are all at different heights, and i want the seats to lean back a little, (i have the generic $350 ebay seats.) The problem is the rails are too narrow for the stock bolts. So we took flat welding steel and used that to go from left to right in the front, and a 1/2" square tube for the rear, so that the seat sits the way its suposed to. We drilled them out and they are bolted down, the rear bar sits nice but the front is not level. The front bolt closest to the door is about 1/8" lower on each side (what the hell!!!) than the bolt closest to the console. So i try stacking it up with washers, worked fine.

Next we have the issue of the legnth of the base of the supplied universal rails. It's not quite long enough to reach the two mounting points on the metal pieces i made (front to back.) Now the problem is, I have to put another pair of metal pieces underneath the rails front to back to mount them. And the issue is, its getting a little tall. And i'm only 5-7. So something is going to have to be done here.

Further complicating the issue, the width of the seat back is a problem considering i have a spyder (and the rear interior panels are a little different, wider i think then my 96 GS hatch). So i went to the friendly parts-pile and selected a Dodge Avenger center console (gives you a little more clearance for the seats, as it sits lower and narrower than the eclipse one as far as i can tell.) That console looks like a good way to pick up an inch of room for mounting the seats. So basically, for the seat to tilt back, the bottom bolster has to be flush with the console, and squared up to the pedals this would place the seat rail... DIRECTLY OVER THE F#CKING CAP on the stock mounting point for the front right driver seat.

I've spent a week on this and trips to 7 yes SEVEN different hardware stores just to get the correct bolt, the seat bolts are M10-125 which is rare and i needed a legnthed one to get the washer stacks under it so everything is even.

Words cannot describe the amount of frustration i have endured, attempting to mount these seats. If anybody has these, and have them mounted without problems, get ahold of me.

Ooops forgot pictures of seats...

I am currently working on making custom seat brackets for Racing seats. I have already done mine up and got the drivers side in. i think its rather nice. and only about half the cost of the sparco, weapon r, etc, seat brackets.

If anyone is interested i may be able to start making seat brackets for the eclipse. I already make a bunch of others parts for various cars. and the Eclipse market is one i would like to get into a bit further.

let me know if anyone is interested.

thanks,
chris

Hey, Im planning on getting some new seats for my interior. I just want to make sure I am getting the correct stuff. Im planning on getting Weapon R seat brackets so the seats will bolt into the stock location. Then I was thinking about getting some of these DAD seats.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...tem=7922868280&category=33701&sspagename=WDVW

They come with sliders. so my question is, Can I attach those sliders the the weapon r brackets and have bolt on seats?

Thanks so much
Mike

I also bought a Weapon R bracket and used the unviversal slider fits perfectly not a problem.

Does anyone know where i can find the mounting brackets for racing seats?? Do i need them or can i just use my stockers??

You cannot use the stockers.. and do a search on ebay i remember seeing some for sale on there.

if you need brackets made for a particular seat, then you might go to the manufacturer. But if you need a custom job done, perhaps a few inches lower to give more head room. Whatever. then call up the guys at speedware motorsports.

www.speedwaremotorsports.com

they have made brackets for a few people for eclipses, and if you need one for an exact model of seat, and how low you want it (or high if you are really, really short) then they will call me up and i will donate my car as a test model to get your brackets to fit right.

But they wont do it for $50. so if the seats are worth proper brackets, give them a ring. I usually talk to Dan. My name is Ryan, he will know me by my car (black 2g)

Hi...i bought some corbeau forza II racing seats but i need brackets to install them to my car...does anyone know if the brackets on ebay will work on these seats on my 90 gsx...or do i need to get the correct ones from corbeau...? does anyone else have any ideas...? will they bolt with the oem seat brackets..?

thanks

There is no way i can hack up my stockers and make them work?? the seat is broke anyways, thats why i am getting these.

not that I know of. sorry.

I am sure somebody has welded on some sheet metal to make a bracket work. But I am not sure.

me and a good friend of mine are in the process of using the stockers. he bags trucks for a living so he said he can do it then looked at it and said it will be a bi*** but can be done. but as of right now we dont know how tall they will sit in the car hopefully stock height. and the thing that will make it very hard is if you want the racing seat to slide..... then it will be even harder.

phil

I got a Corbeau bracket and the fitment was not good at all. I made it work but for what they cost I would have expected it to bolt right on. If it's cheap, you might as well try an Ebay bracket.

Mitch

I just finished installing my Forza's last night and used the Corbeau brackets. I didn't have a single problem. I was a little scared at first because the way the brackets came the seats aren't centered and sit against the door. Simply unbolt it and re-bolt it down in the pre-drilled holes. I didnt have to perform any modifications to get the brackets to work.

This was for a 90 talon tsi.

do I need both? Any place thats cheaper than $160 for sliders and brackets before shipping? ... the guy I ordered from was supposed to send them.... he said he did, he didn't, im screwed. I would like to do as little modification for these as possible.
