i wanna get a turbo timer and im not sure which one to get. i wanna get one that works with the factory alarm. i wanna be able to make a run at the track, park my car, get out with my keys, lock my car, and have it set the alarm when i press the button, or when the car shuts off. basically i want to walk away and have the alarm on when i get back. is there one particular turbo timer that will allow me to do this? i did search but i didnt find a definitive answer to my question.

okay get any turbo timer, park your car close the windows, and look the door with your key :D now jus walk away :D

what does locking the door with the key have to do with anything? wouldnt that be the same as using the remote?

Yes.
Except for one is used by a remote via pressing a button.
The other is done by turning a key.

umm, ok, ill go for help on another forum for this cause no one wants to answer my question seriously and this will be another thread where someone looks for an answer to my question and doesnt find an answer and so they start their own thread asking the same thing as me, praying that they might get a serious answer instead of some smart ass comment. thanks.

LOL owned. I dunno man, sorry, please don't yell at me too. :( :shhh: \

Have you tried searching yahoo or google for Turbo Timers? Or go to some car accessories store type place and ask someone working there. If they don't know or don't have what you're looking for, I'm sure they could direct you in the right... direction?

My GReddy TT works with my factory alarm. It requires a little bit of hacking, but nothing difficult - http://ca.dsm.org/FAQ/2gtt-faq.html

Buy the GReddy turbo timer and their harness, and don't cut any harness wires.

It also plays songs for you, which is rather nice of it to do for you.

That wasn't a smartass answer but here I'll give you more detail to why I gave you that as a reply.

The doorlock in the door when turned and locked by hand uses minimal electronics if any (correct me defiant) so you don't have to worry about another electronic device triggering and bugging or messing up your tt's settings or configuration.

The automatic doorlock is setup to use a ''wireless'' remote to close the doors for you which I'm sure is a "nifty" feature but something I can continue to live without. Using the remote sends an e-l-e-c-t-r-i-c-a-l pulse to trigger a mechanism to lock the doors for you. This possibly could send or screw up something with the setting of the turbo timer hence people saying that the tt don't work with the factory alarm.

That's a more drawn out reply since you "assumed" I was just being a smartass.

what is a turbo timer
Read some of the links.
Or goto one of the vendors pages and look up a turbo timer in the "electronics" section.

It's bascailly a small computer box that keeps the car running to flow oil through the turbo after turning the car off and getting out. That way it cools the turbo down after some "spirited driving..."
