scm 50 trim vs gt3255e

I went out and droped some cash on what I thought was a scm 5031e in mint condition. And messing with it, it has a bit more shaft play than I thought. Then I noticed that it has gt3255e engraved in the compressor outlet. It needs rebuilt, and I'm not sure what I should do from here. I doubt I can get my money back from this guy. I read it uses the gt32/35 rebuild kit, but I can't find where to buy it. And is it even worth it? I spent $400 on the turbo, and I am kicking my self for being in a hurry.

I want 400-450 horse, and this turbo is more than capable of it. Im going to be putting it on a 2.3 with 9:1 pistons. When will this thing spool, and at what boost level might I expect to reach those power levels.

Jusmx141 here on the site rebuilds turbos for a resonable price. On my 2.4l with 9.1:1 comp I was spooling a scm5027e by 3k and my hx40 spools by 4k on a t3 .70 a/r hotside. So, im sure youll be hitting in the 3-4k range. You will be in the 25psi+ range to flow enough air to make the power your looking for.

The last GT3255E I rebuilt for a customer needed a parts kit that cost $130, and developed in/out play again within 2k miles. The GT32 turbos have a weak 270* thrust system with no available upgrade.

Do not buy ANYTHING from BAE Turbo. Their parts are not Genuine, and they have no idea what they're doing. I recently bought a S300 kit from BAE to rebuild Ricky's S366, and it came with the wrong sized journal bearings. Instead of taking the measurements I provided and worked with me to find the right bearings, they proceeded to argue with me that the S366 doesn't use the same journal bearings as a S300 (it definitely does) and didn't refund my money once I returned the kit....it took a Paypal claim to get my money back. HORRIBLE customer service...I'll pay twice as much to buy my parts from someone else to avoid doing business with them.

Now is that do to them customer maxing out the turbo, to much/to little oil, or just design flaws?
I understand its a weaker thrust bearing, this one has no in and out and play, just side to side. I juat feel obligated to use it now that i have it. Unless I can sell it for cost i paid plus the rebuild, which I think is unlikely.

I've towed 2 cars that needed major work under 100 miles, one 09 malibu needed a tranny at 47 miles, and a 07 trailblazer needed a motor at 85 miles. do all those cars all suck?....

I know I asked for opinions, and I thank you for yours, as I know your an experienced member. Where else can i find the parts I need?
