Okay so i want to learn how to lunch my awd 1g 5speed. But I'm kinda scared to break something I'm not really sure how to lunch it, like just bring the rpms up and drop the clutch? or do a little bit of a roll and then drop the clutch? thnaks

Turkey is the best for lunch. If you want to know how to launch however, rev to like 4500 and slip the clutch and takeoff. Never dump it.

Dsmlink makes such a launch almost effortless. and chipotle > turkey. ImJustSayin....

x2 on no dumping. you will either stall, or break something. But dont feather too long or you might glaze or smoke something.

As long as you treat your car as if you want it to stick around a while, you should be ok. a FEW bad launches shouldnt hurt a car in good working order. just dont launch at every light and you should be fine. Im guessing you have a stock clutch. Learning will be fine on that, it will be better to err on the long release since you will only be burning a $100 clutch that will need to be upgraded anyway. your trans/xfer/rear should be fine in this case.

alright whats the chances of breaking my transfer case? of something else? i have the 4 bolt rear end

Dude just get out there and do it. If something breaks it was going to break anyway so just fix it with good parts and be more comfortable. I'm not saying launch every two seconds while driving but still LOL.

You are obviously causing more normal wear and tear on all those parts by driving like a crazy person launching but that's your decision.

thanks guys after i get my tb rebuilt new tps and new iac to fix my car sticking at 4k and not having to push the gas to move im gonna practice it I've brake boosted it around 20 in 1st it would spool up like 10psi and the once i let off the brake it would spool like 15 psi ist was pretty awesome but I've had it for almost a year now and havent tried launching it yet. link has a launch control doesnt it? that helps spool the turbo for the lunch right? i was looking at the bee r rev limiter by buddy has it in his supra but i know if i just save up a little more i can get link

Link has a built in rev limiter , and tones of other goodies..But it asap ...Also its.... Launch , not ...Lunch...Just had to add some more ............If you think it will break just pick up a spare clutch and transmission

Stage at 4-4.5k then slightly let out the clutch to preload the drivetrain. Hold it there like that and when your ready to go, let off the clutch as quickly and smootly as possible and at the same time step on the gas more. Preloading the drivetrain will prevent you from delivering a hard shock to the system that dumping the clutch will do. Its that sudden shock that will make things break.

Just get out there and play with it! Why build something you're afraid to break? Lol, I have spare everythings and I can't wait to start twisting axles ;) It's your toy, play with it how you think it should be played with and when you break something, take it with a grain of salt and make it better and more fun for next time :thumb:

but i know if i just save up a little more i can get link

Save up a little more. A lot of people buy "upgrades" that become obsolete with link. a GM maf + translator, SAFC, 2-step, etc... will eventually add up to the cost of link. And you will be blown when you realize you spent more than link and still don't have it or its other massive list of features. never spend money on anything that link can do.

Vtec is the ideal high protein lunch for my DSM and I, however I do like Salami and cheese...

Just play with it man, start off with a small "lunch" until you get more comfortable with your ride & your stomach can handle a bigger one.
