I have run a few searches and they yielded nothing. I have come to the conclusion I will be replacing my exhaust manifold and stock O2 housing on my 1996 TSI AWD. I will be running an EVOIII16G with this settup. I want to get a SBR exhaust manifold and run an EVO O2 housing as well. Will this make a significant difference over stock manifold and O2 housing (nonported). Im talking about HP, not spoolup.

the big question is though, will the evo O2 housing mate right up to my Apexi N1 Downpipe? It is 2.5 inches. Thanks a lot.

I have the SBR manifold and the EVO O2 housing with a 50-trim... I ported the o2 housing.. I can't compare it to anything since I went straight from the stock pieces to the new manifold... but I like it a lot... I'm also interested in other peoples' opinions...

I would recommend you get their EVO III or ported 2G (stage 2) exhaust manifolds and use your stock pieces as cores. Well worth it.

An EVO III O2 sensor housing WILL NOT bolt to your regular APEXi N-1 DP. Either port your stock piece or get one that's already ported from SBR - using your stock as core to save a little money. :thumb:

Well, the only reason I was going to go with the EVO O2 is because I couldn't get 2 bolts off the stock one. But, I got them off today (with much trouble). Looks like I'll be heading to the hardware store tomorrow for some good bits.

My Apexi GT downipe bolted up to the EVO III O2 housing. Is this a 1G thing?

One thing to note that I didn't find out until it was too late...on my 2G, the EVO III O2 housing causes the DP to come off at a different angle. I'm not sure whether the Apexi GT DP will work, but I installed a Pacesetter 3" downpipe....and it ended-up resting on the transfer case. I had to have it heated and dented flat in two spots to clear the transfer case. I've posted about this previously, but thought that you should be aware of this.

If you do get the EVO III O2 and install an Apexi GT downpipe, please let us know how it goes and if it clears the transfer case...

How close is the DP to your transfer case? I have a GT DP lying around and am wondering if it will work better than the Pacesetter DP since it is only 2.5" up to the first bend. Thanks.

RRE makes DP to compensate for the different angle :thumb:

Correct. There's the RRE DP that is specially made to bolt onto the EVO III O2 sensor housing. Any other N-1 and most other DSM DP's will not "bolt on" to it. ;)

Thanks...I just ordered one from RRE. What a pain. I first ordered an Apexi GT DP because the description on the website said that it connects to the cat...then I found out that it replaces the cat...(still have that one). Then the Pacesetters rested on the transfer case...and had to severely dent it up to get it to fit...and now I'm on my third DP (Hopefully it's like they say...the third times a charm). (So I've spent $800 in DP's...hopefully I can find someone to buy the Apexi GT DP).
