I'm building a 2G AWD with a 2.3L and a SCM50 (stage 3 exhaust, .63A/R, internal gate. I will have a 3" downpipe and exhaust, but can't decide on the O2 housing. I think the SBR O2 eliminator housing would be nice, but I don't know if it will be as dependable as the EVO.

Anyone have a review of the SBR o2 eliminator cracking, warping, etc? How many miles have you used it? Power comparisson vs. the EVO would be nice too.

Unless I hear something definitive about the SBR, I'll probably get the EVO housing.

you know I could have sworn, i read some where that the evo III 02housing was 2.5 inches. Why spend the extra bill on one that might not offer more performance? Are you going internal or external gate?

the evo housing can easily be ported to 3". i have one. BUT, BEWARE...the downpipe MUST be made for the evo housing, or it will hit the transfer case. not just once in a while, when you torque down the nuts, that sucker will jam up against the transfer so hard, it will distort the pipe. there is like a 20 deg difference. rre is the ONLY place i know of that makes a pipe for the evo housing that fits. however, the other end is made for only 1 exh, apexi, i think, so you might have to get the opposite side redone. they do give you and extra flange for this.

well what o2 housing fits the apexi dp? i have it already installed to my stock o2

Any O2 housing that is a stock bolt-on should fit your apexi downpipe. Even the evo o2 sensor housing will fit but it isn't recommended since it wont fit that well. ie the bolts are slightly further apart then the stock one and it exists at a different angle so you are putting alot of stress on your downpipe flex section & will end up breaking it. Looks like because of the different angle it also hits the transfer case on the awd cars according to the previous post.
