Ah yeah that's me. I actually didn't get that email back (stupid spam filter is gettin' pretty nazi on my ass) so that's why I didn't know. Sucks to hear but at least I know where to head now. Also, I read somewhere (or thought I did at least) that you designed those endtanks on >insert whatever software here< in one day? Can you redesign the endtanks specifically for the 1G to make it work instead of just using the 2G's plus a spacer? I'm talking out my @$$ here as I have no clue to any of this. Just spoutin' ideas.

Yeah I could redesign them in a day... if I wanted. The software I use is called pro Engineer. However that is not the difficulty.

The hard part is re-tooling the mold to cast newly designed end tanks. Thats the expensive part.

I think a better idea would be if the core was a bit wider. That may be hard space wise (just a thought havent had the bumper off in along time) or it may need a custom size core and that may drive up the price.

Wider core would fit the bill, but certainly not necessary for cooling purposes.

If a core this (28" x 10.xx" x 3.5") size isn't cutting it for you, you are most likely ready to setup a air/water cooler.

Very true. I was just looking at it from the end tank point of view. I wouldnt want a core thats 28 x 10 x3.5 let alone bigger. Perhaps a core that is a bit wider but not as tall. That would still have the surface area in the grill, versus hidden under the bumper cover, and use the endtank that you have designed.

 why dooesn't any one make nice stuff for 2gen

On a different note, not trying to hijack, I've been reading through this post and I'd like to comment on how much I appreciate all the feedback from you sponsors/vendors. You guys have backed up your products without slinging trash on the other guys, kudos. And also I'd like to clear up that JR ic's and Johnnyracecar ic's are two different people.

I'm runnin Victory Performance Super Street IC and love it. short route piping w/ nice polished finish and sits nice behind 97-99 bumper. :thumb: Only downside, if there is one, is the loss of foglights. Not that big of a deal to me though...

I am currently getting a 2G racke Kit built by Albert at DVDT fab. His service is excellent and has been a pleasure doing business with him. As far as flow design I have not found a better kit for the 2G platform. I will post pics as soon as I have it in my hands. :thumb:

Look at what we have been discussing. It is a super nice 2G frount mount with very nice endtandks.

I know this thread is a month old, but I looked through victory performance and that nice endtank design looks to be only for the 1gs. So he has a right to be upset. Does any company make those kind of endtanks for 2gs?

As promised here is another thread I started on the site with pics of my new DVDTfab intercooler setup :thumb:

Front Mount intercooler Pics

Of all you guys using the kits mentioned above...how was piping fitment? Did it go on correctly out of the box or did you have to get some custom fab work to get them to fit. I almost bought a VPE kit years back before their "new design" but my best friends piping fitment was horrid and it cost him another 2 bills in fab work to get them to fit right. I wouldnt mind dropping 1k+ on a kit as long as the piping didnt require any extra custom work.

My piping fit OK (I have the DV/DT Fab kit). There's about 2-3" of space between the pipe from the IC outlet and the TB elbow pipe, but I still could fit it all together just fine. Part of the reason is that I lowered the IC core to better fill the grill opening, and that caused the separation of the two pipes.

Nothing, we just are always trying different setups to see if it makes more power, if it cools better, if we don't want to use it, etc. We may switch to a spearco core, but we have not had enough time yet to be sure with out a doubt it makes more power and until then, we will not be switching.

I see, yeah ill be buying a 2g kit from you guys pretty soon. Sucks you guys dont offer it for 879 shipped no more..Oh well

SlowboyCSE, I've noticed that for a while you guys offer a 1g "street" intercooler kit, but no 2g "street" kit. Is there a 2g street kit in the works?

Yes sir, we just don't have anything finished yet that's even close to a final product.

My fitment on my DVDTfab kit was flawless. I thought I was going to have some negotiating for the 3 inch plumbing, but it all fit perfectly. :thumb:
