Ok, so i'm stuck between these 2 kits. I'm currently running a big16g, a GM MAF, and planning on going to a 50trim in the near future. I know it's really nit picky, but i want to make sure i get the best intercooler for my money. The SBR is $150 cheaper than the AGP, but does not come w/ a new overflow bottle.

Since i'm running on a TD05H comp housing, will i need to buy a new j-pipe for the short routed piping?

If they are pretty much the same intercooler (SBR is 4" less wide, and 2" taller), why is AGP's kit so much more expensive? Marketing?

For those ppl who bought the SBR, does it come with standard hose clamps, or T-bolts? Also, what did you do w/ your overflow bottle? Are any of you running it with a TD05H housing? If so, how did you route your piping off the turbo?

For those w/ the AGP, same question about piping w/ the TD05H housing.

I know about the SBR using the Garett core and the AGP using the Spearo what are the flow numbers of each intercooler?

Also, when it comes down to final price, the AGP is going to cost $1100 while the SBR will only cost me $950 configured for a blow through MAF. Am i essentially paying $150 for a new overflow bottle w/ the AGP?

Thanks a lot guys.

Look at these before you decide...

I have a short route FMIC already and wish I had these.... Shwing

Ok, that's nice and all, but again, i'm running a big16g, and i cannot use their piping setup. Their pipes are designed to be used with downward pointing compressor housings, not j-pipes. Also, they do not allow space for use of a GM-MAF.

hmm itll work with a j-pipe. Thats what a j-pipe is for. and if you want to use a gm maft, cut 3" out of the UICP and put in ur maft.

The maft will fit where this coupler is...

You'd need to cut.. I'd email and ask about MAFT and outlet options...

I didn't think about the 16G outlet...

What gets me are the mount brackets.. See the guy standing on the mounted IC...

Sry bro, but it wont w/o some modification to both the j-pipe and the LICP, the j-pipe brings the comp outlet about 1' away from a normal downward facing comp housing. It's designed to go to the SMIC location, not to the drivers side. See picture above, the j-pipe ends on the passenger side of the front engine mount. not where a stock comp outlet is.

Right, and then have couplers blowing off every 5 minutes. No thank you. I'd rather buy an intercooler w/ all these things thought out so none to minimal problems would come up.

But yea, back on topic. Can anyone answer my first set of questions for me?

Yea i saw it. I've e-mailed them asking if they'd allow me to prototype their intercooler for TD05H housings w/ GM MAFs and Magnus SMIM's.

Our kit comes complete with all t-bolt clamps and the right couplers to use a MAFT blowthrough setup. The only extra piece you'll need for a 16g style turbo is our SS FMIC J-Pipe ($80). It will line up with the lower pipe already included in the kit. The core is rated to 650hp from Garrett, although we've made more power than that on it :) .

We do not include a overflow bottle with the kit, however you can mount your factory bottle in the fender well and have the fill come through the spot in the fender where the old SMIC used to!

I have'nt seen good enough pictures of both of them in detail...

The tank outler (pass) is similar on both. The SB seems to use a silicone 90 at the tank inlet as opposed to the hard pipe of the AGP. From the minimal amount of detail I see the AGP.

Well i have the 2x2.5-3" reducers that are needed for the GM MAF so i do not need those. i really just needed to know about the overflow and clamps. thanks for answering my questions, Nate. I very much appreciate it. I will more than likely be buying from you guys as i originally intended.

is the j pipe that is needed for the 16g turbo the same same j pipe that is included in the 2g turbo install kit?

Nope, they're different. The 2g install kit j-pipe comes overtop the turbo and down closer to the smic location. Our FMIC j-pipe goes right down past the turbo to connect with the lower pipe, essentially putting the outlet where a down firing cover would be.

and how about no 1000 $ intercoolers and get just a water-methanol injection?
more boost, less troubles

Jesus..

Instead of bitching because a vendor's website doesn't say or offer options for a 16g, heaven forbid you don't email or call them.

I'm sure Albert at DV/DT would make you a setup to work with your car.

I myself have the AGP/IRC kit, with pipes from Shearer Motorsport. Fit's like glove.

Who's bitchin. Instead of flaming someone, why dont you post something that's actually useful instead? I HAVE already e-mailed DVDT but i didn't like what i recieved back.
