Medicine Hat,
okay since iv replaced everything else in this damn car i might as well just change the damn turbo before it decides do implode and send some nice shiny shrapnel into my new block. anyway i guess ill start by listing my mods.

brand new block .02" over
arp hardware
ported head& intake mani
revised lifters
Stainless steel valves

hard boost pipes
blitz BOV

Tre transmission
Fidanza Flywheel

pocket logger

of course Ill be buying a walbro 190 or 255+AFPR (will the 190 suppy enough fuel for a 50 trim?)
SAFC2
620cc injectors

anyway i would really like be in the low-mid 12s on pump gas and am thinking that this is the turbo to do it. now on their website it says it bolts up to the 2g manifold but im not sure what else is really needed to hook this up. Im assuming i need the 90 degree elbow that they offer to bolt it up to the stock manifold and boost tubes.

oil/drain lines, 255pump, bigger intercooler

The 'SBR-G50' turbo from Slowboyracing.com is on a DSM style turbine housing, so it will bolt on to your 2G manifold.

I don't know which side they put the 90 deg bend on, but if it is on the passenger side you can use your 'intercooler piping'.

Please note that you need a few mods first:
-Exhaust System
-Front Mount Intercooler with piping
-Boost Controller
-Boost Gauge and EGT gauge or wideband o2 gauge (if you want to do any tuning)

Instead of SAFC, look at DSMLink.

And no a 190 will not be enough for a 50 trim. You'll need 255 with AFPR.

Take a look at the upgrade path, it's not a set in stone upgrade path, but the idea remains the same. Bigger turbo, you need more air going in (intake) and more air going out (bigger exhaust). If you plan to run on stock SMIC it'll heatsoak with a 50 trim. :nono:

ummm... u guys probly have more experience than i do, but my friend has a 190 lph and it supplies his PTE 50 trim without a problem. but, since ur doing it all anyways, go ahead and get the 255

"And no a 190 will not be enough for a 50 trim. You'll need 255 with AFPR" - I take that statement back.

I just sent an IM to CanadianTSI who is running 22-23psi on his 50 trim turbo with a 190 fuel pump and a built engine. He replied saying that 90% of the people on this site will not need anything more than a 190.

Having said the above, if you ever plan on going bigger than the 50 trim, get the 255 pump with the AFPR. :thumb:

agreed. a rewired 190 is fine until you start making more than 450+ whp. That equates to more than enough power an average DSMer with an average 50 trim will ever put out.

with that said, my g50 is sitting in my garage bolted to my car ready for the completion of the install :thumb: and no, I have no fear that my rewired 190 will run out of headroom either. plus 660's help

just to answer crazyjoker's question a little more...

on a GST low 12's on street tires is HARD to do. but since you have a TRE trans [I assume there is an LSD in there] having slicks on will get you to your target ET with no problems.

joker - do you have an upgraded clutch? If I were you, i'd go back and get the basic supporting mods to run a larger turbo. a nice side to side FMIC + other things will get you to your 12's with 20 psi no problem.

heya my tre tranny does not have the actually quaife Limtied slip but i got a insert( i know its a poor subsitute but didnt have the extra 700 bucks lying around for a real one) also i guess i forgot these in my list im running a open downpipe for the track and have a injen intake also i have a exedy clutch so my driveline is built to take it. thanks for all yoru feed back it has been very informitive but iv also ran across another bolt on 50 trim by agp i believe its called the rs49t looks almost identicle to the SBR one so now i just have to decide which company to go with.

RS49T from AGP comes with a 1 year warranty and the compressor comes polished. I would personally take the AGP over SBR just cause of the warranty, but that's my opinion :thumb:

:nono: The SBR G50 turbo utilizes the Turbonetics "big" Shaft now. It carries the same 1year warrany that the t-netics do. I know, i just ordered a G50 2 days ago and those words came directly out of Craggers mouth.

Back to what you need now. Here is my list of goodies that I believe will give me results in good times at the track and be nice to tune.

3"intake
3"turbo back ex.
GM MAF
MAF Translator V.2
SBR Street FMIC Kit w/ 2.5in SS piping flanged for Blow Through Setup and Turbo XS BOV
SBR G50 w/ 38mm internal gate
Walbro HP 255 pump
Aeromotive Fuel Pres. Reg. W/ guage
FIC 650cc injectors
S-AFCII, Because I dont have a Eprom ECU, if i did, i would have went w/ DSMLink
Palm Pilot Data Logger
EGT, Boost, Air/fuel, and oil pres. guages
SBR boost controller
SBR cast ported manifold.

I believe this is a very decent setup for a DD car. I am FWD and went w/ the 50 trim to hopefully get later spool up, thus increasing my traction and helping me keep it, and hopefully resulting in good times and a nice dyno sheet running 20-22 psi on 93 octane, 28 psi on race gas. Hope this helps.
