Ok ill get right to the point, I plan on a big turbo soon but have the money now for the fmic, with most nice frontmounts it says cannot be used with anything but the downward facing turbos, but I cant stand the cruddy stock piping i have now with my leaky 2g bov, has anyone got this or a similar front mount to work with a stock turbo with a few couplers or mods. Just wondering because i really wanna get my intercooler out of the way and get it installed.

i too am in the same boat. A year or so from now I want to full setup with a 16g but right now have the crappy stock intercooler pipes and I have a few leaks here and there.

What I plan on doing is taking it in two stages, 1- get hard intercooler pipes for my stock SMIC and when I upgrade to an FMIC just buy a core, mount it, and have someone fab up the pipes from the FMIC to my hard intercooler pipes. Sure, it would be long-route piping but it's just a thought.

Thats what i was figuring, well great thanks for the responses guess a little cutting is in store for the t-25low

Hmm, do you really think thats the best idea to run such a big front mount with the small T-25? I almost made this mistake myself but after some research decided heavily against it. I would go ahead and buy the front mount if its in your plans, but just wait until you plan on putting on your new turbo. The T-25 just simply does not flow enough to fill that core and the pipes you will be using. You will probably notice a big degrade in performance (both spool-up and overall), plus you will be over runing and killing that poor little turbo faster.

If anything, get some new piping for your sidemount. Heck I have my old ones sitting around here with a 1g crushed BOV. The piping is black and are the dejoin tool upper and lower side mount intercooler pipes. I believe 2in? Forget offhand, but you can find used ones for sale all over.

Might want to check into that one again.

The turbo is not going to work any harder to fill it. It *may* take a hair longer to fill it/spool, but in a real world scenario the difference is negligible.

What are you saying no to? Using the t-25 with the SBR front mount?

Yeah you might wanna look into that again. First off, it would still push plenty of air to work, and secondly the highest Psi I've heard of loosing when switching over to a big intercooler was 1-2psi and they just adjusted their MBC.

The benefits of running the FMIC would still outweigh the negatives.
