How you are launching on this SBR 3500..
I got this clutch kit and lightness flywheel direct from Slowboyracing.. shipping to Czech republic 256USD..(Flywheel is Fidanza..I think..)
When I want to dragging.
I run 5000rpm´s and then drop my clutch pedal..rear wheels start little bit burn..Is there some other style..better? /running 2G AWD on stock engine/
What about let the clutch slipping on..."hold it on clutch"
There is one curious Thing...Smell!!
When I launch..My clutch smells crazy WTF
Sorry for Bad English..

any updates yet guys? I was about ready to order another RPS 2500, but this has caught my attention.

:D i just got my stutter box!!! I should be going to the track soon!

Umm, i have done a few practice launches (without the stutter) ... and it felt reallly nice. Thing just grabs and goes!..... Nice light pedal with good launching caracteristics.... cant go wrong!

I'm not running the SBR clutch but I do have a Competition Clutch Ironman 6 puck. As far as I could tell the disc is equal to the SBR 4000. If not I'm sure the hubs are the same. So here is my $.02. (Good) It's a great clutch, it bites hard and quick. You could slip it on a launch as much as you want with no problem's. Pedal pressure is great allmost like stock. No funky burning smells on a launch. I had no chatter issue's at all. (Bad) I can't keep the springs in the disc. My first clutch lost 2 of them at 3k miles. CC replaced the disc under warranty with no problems. My 2nd disc lasted 200 miles and 1 spring was on it's way out while the center spring broke in two and wedged into the p/p fingers. Both disc saw no track time and the 2nd disc saw only 2 launches. I got it from MachV and they seem to be willing to help so :thumb: to them.

just got my car back with a brand new tranny, flywheel, tob, and sbr 3500 clutch.

clutch feels awesome... no heavier than my 2100 but enough to let you know it's not stock. it is very bitey, and i know it's going to be a pleasure to launch with... but i dont wanna beat on my brand new tranny. any idea how many miles i should put on it before i start driving a little more, uh, spirited?

oh and i have this chattering noise that sounds like it is clutch related. i never actually saw the throwout bearing before they put it in, so i dont know for sure if it was plastic or metal. any ideas on what else could cause the chattering?

PLEASE more feedback as far as installation and how you like it.

I have to 2 day ship a clutch due to the previous owners bad choice in an ebay 6puck clutch, and its either an SBR 3500 or spec stage 2. I DO NOT want a 6puck anymore.

Its crunch time as far as what clutch to pick as my friend with airtools is moving and I'd like to get it done before he leaves.

Hows the clutch running? One person reported chatter on either here on dsmtalk and a person on talk reported the clutch wouldn't disengage. My pedal assembly is perfectly fine. I will however be replacing my clutch master and slave a short time after installing the clutch.

My job is dependant on me having a car and I cant afford to play the shipping game back and forward if anything goes wrong.

Theres not to much to say about the clutch install.. i mean, its a clutch install. They are all the same. The clutch for me so far is AWSOME! I have launched it with my stutter box at 6psi and it just grabs and goes! get the SBR clutch, you wont regret it!

Hereis a link for the clutch job, hope it helps! http://vfaq.com/index-main.html

Got my car back running a couple of weeks ago with the new SBR 3500. So far, I've been really impressed with the clutch. Good quality, no paint issues as originally posted. Fast shipping. Install was simple, just wrote the check, so I can't comment on the technical issues. Here are my thoughts on the clutch.

It grabs and goes. Still have not launched with it though, I'm being kind to my newly rebuilt engine for a while.

I have not had any issues with slippage, of course that's due to not pushing it hard.

There is some chatter on down shifting when you're trying to take it easy, especially while the clutch is still warming up.

Peddle forces are nominal, my wife didn't have anything to say about the clutch forces when she first drove the car, so I'm figuring it's not too bad. It is a little more than the stock clutch and you start to notice it in stop and go traffic. I'd say it's on the same force level as a early 70's Chevelle (showing my age here).

No negatives to report so far. Will report more as it happens.

Launched with the SBR 3500 clutch for the first time over the weekend. 4500 rpm, clutch out - WOT and it took off! No slipping, just good hard acceleration. :thumb: It held a 5 - 3 down shift at freeway speeds without complaint, again just good solid acceleration.

So I still have nothing bad to say about this clutch and would not hesitate to recommend it.

My TOB is starting to make noise... i didnt get the mitsu one with mine though.

k guys, any feedback? not hearing too much. also, i'm wondering but do any of you have problems with the clutch adjustment after installing one of these like many have had with an ACT?

my tob makes noise, but i dont care. i had the clutch installed by a mitsu dealer and i dont think they had any adjustment problems. grabs great, and it's awesome. i really like it.

my car is down and out !!! I will have the trans out of it this weekend to see what the cause was.

uh oh, what kinda noise was it making? what happened to it?

Hey Fattie92, just wondering umm what does a car act like when the disc breaks like that? Is it just funny noise or does it act messed up too?

Did you have any funny noises before it broke?

No noise.. I just could not get it into gear. Even just tring to start the car, clutch in and in first gear, the car just lurches.

with the car in gear and me reving till about 6k with the sbr 3500, my clutch pedal vibrates. anyone else's do the same?

Mine (HD 4000) was paint very good (maybe for the 100$ extra :p ...) look awsome, me too didn't come with the OEM t/o bearing, but I keep the one I had (I changed it 3 month ago when I put the 2100), because I have a break-in 500 miles, I'm still not over yet but I can say the pedal pressure is like stock (or 2100) but when you clucht first speed you notice a huge clamping power, other speed are very smoth, but first you very feel the clamp, so I need to be carefull, because easy to do a little to must fast with not enough gas and it stall...

Sorry, please proof read before you click submit.

well i just installed my sbr 3500 the other day and im getting clutch chatter during deceleration at around 3000 rpms. does clutch chatter go away after break in or will i just have to learn to live with it

Just swapped my ACT 2600 with Aluminum flywheel to the SBR 3500 with chromoly flywheel. less pedal pressure and I haven't pushed it hard since the install yet. I had a used act 2600 and street disk with about 5k on it and that clutch grabbed. So far I love the sbr 3500 based on pedal pressure cause i felt my pedal assembly was gonna go if i kept using the act. I' have no issues with chatter or n/e thing really. Overall great product.

Update: 8,000+ miles without a hiccup on SBR3500 and ACT Streetlite
