yeah me too, except I have about 9k miles and still holding on strong. launches great, down shifts are awesome. i would buy another, but I am willing to try the sbr 4000 first.

Thanks for all the info. guys! I just ordered my fidanza insert and SBR3500 clutch kit this morning. Here are some pics of my RPS2600 after about 2,000 miles, I bought it barely used, it looked nothing like this when I installed it. I drive it hard and slip the clutch which explains the wear.

I hate my SBR 3500 PP and ACT disk...Chatters bad! Not as smooth as the SBR disk I had... But oh well.. ill let the next owner deal with all of that.

Dang! Good job squeak!!

Are you the same squeak from CA.Com? Just curious. Anyways much props bro!!!

I have an uninstalled SBR 3500 but am now going with a big FP3065 in my 2g instead of the RS49 50 trim that had in my 1g when I bought the clutch. I think can trade it up since its never been installed.
I would like to know if anyone is running this SBR3500 with big turbo like an fp3065 and how its taking it. Also anyone have experience with the hd 4000 lately. I think read a post or two with some hd4000 problems.
Just not sure which clutch to go with .My car will see 99% street use but might make a run or two down the tradck with hopes of hitting 11.5 which would be kick off point for no cage.

My slowboy clutch is starting to take a toal on me i believe :( 120MPH traps with 1200 miles on it ( not launched to much ) and it seems to be slipping a little... I'll be diving into the problem FOR SURE this week and will get back to you guys

I got about 500 miles on mine and it is great. The only thing I don't like about it is that it is very hard to engage smoothly. My girlfriend might hate it, but my right foot loves it!:thumb:

well i have about 50 miles on my car and at first car wouldnt go into any gear....i installed symborski, metal shifter bushings, new fulcrom ball and fork, ss braided line also...adjusted shifter cables....got top 3 gears no bottom 3....changes around again lost top 3 gained bottom 3 gears wtf....changed shifter cables completely....poof magic perfect except for how it engage right of the floor no more than this much I I LOL really tight....adjusted rod now engages like a dream....1,2,3 was really notchy and grindy before....No problems now shifts like butter (BG II MAYBE?;) )....it terms of launching launched it 10 times and slipped it hard at 21 psi on b16g every time started with 1400rpm launch, then to 2000rpm's just going up each time....No chatter,no drivetrain noise,no burning clutch,no bad smells, just beautiful....best clutch i have had yet....act2100 not enough clamping force...2600 to clampy for g/f<<pita.cant press pedal to floor....opted for sbr 3500 and perfect for her and the hp goals i plan to achieve roughly 400whp

act2100 not enough clamping force...2600 to clampy for g/f<---pita has to be her way sometimes....good enoguh for my goal of 350-400 dd whp not going extreme....

I am pushing it with an SBR3500 that came on my car. 400awhp and I wouldn't go any further unless I was looking to destroy the SBR. ACT 2600 instead, unless you are feeling frisky ACT 2900

I just called Sbr yesterday and they said they're on major backorder for the 3500. I couldn't wait, so I ended up ordering the Act 2900 with the street disk for my 90 gsx. My 97 Gst is still equipped with the act2100 :)

You might want to choose another clutch. Theres been problems with that particular clutch. I have one I havent installed yet and im debating whether to install it in or not. I called sbr today and asked them about it and i was told it should be ok with installing it but im still trying to decide whether to take the chance with it or not.

I've had the SBR 3500 in my GST for about 3k miles now and love it. It's grabs hard and has good pedal pressure. Just be sure whatever flywheel you use is machined to the correct step height and you will be fine.

So you can't just throw in a new flywheel you have to blueprint it first? And machine it if needed?

The way the 3500 works is exactly what I have been looking for, for so long. But now I duno if I want to spend the $ for one thats not as well proven as a pos ACT...

i talked to slowboy yesterday and they assured me that the 3500 i bought should be fine because i bought one of the early ones and it was before they started having problems wth them. im not sure about the requirements of the flywheel used with it though.

A bit of thread resurrection..
I have had my 4000 for 500 miles.I got it a few month ago so dont' think its newest redesign.
It was super light when first put it in ,it had some chatter though. Now the chatter is going away but the pedal pressure is pretty firm. I don't like it in traffic much and at lights pretty much have to put it in neutral. I lost a slave but not cause of the clutch a few days ago. New slave and its the same pressure.I have tried adjusting and its pretty close to floor a couple inches. Its engaging and disengaging good but wondering if move the pedal off the floor a bit more would the pedal pressure go down? Would moving it closer to floor make pedal pressure go down or up.I am pretty sure no pump up. I try to make sure the freeplay is there.

Also think a few guys said pedal pressure got lighter after some miles. The 3500 and 4000 used to use the same pressure plate.I definitely have the 3500 pressure plate.
Anyone find the pedal got lighter as the miles went on and if so how many miles. I may be ripping this clutch out next year if it dont' get a bit mellower. No way my wife would drive my car with this clutch currently.
I am pretty sure its bled right..pedal is very firm.Have stainless line also.

hey there,
I got my 3500 since Jan 2005,(its the OLD design:( ) I went like 10kmiles.... Few hard launches.. shifting UP/DOWN :rocks: everything :thumb:

This spring bought 50trim ..and DSMlink..and taked out "clutch restrictor" and when use "launch control" at 5k rpms.. feel clutch smell..its only threw launching....(is it possible that 3500can´t hold this power, and slipping)?Actually I Don´t feel clutch slipping threw launch! everytime its pretty coool..mean When clutch pedal "let in" feeling my rear wheels spin....confused why clutch smels.... How I said, its only threw launch..when shifting UP/DOWN..:rocks:
driving in city,on trafic lights..:boring: like stock

Couple questions.did pedal pressure decrease with miles.Have 600 on mine and pedal pressure seems pretty darn high.

Also does pedal pressure change as you change engagement point from the floor.I know too close to floor you might not get disengagement and to far up you might not get clutch to grip and I know you have to keep free play at the top so it don't pump up on 2gs.

Right now my clutch is not very good in traffic.

Have a few more miles maybe 750 on the clutch. I played a bit with adjustment pedal pressure is still pretty high and still putting it neutral at lights. Chatter is still there sometimes. It seems to be grabbing ok and get into most gears good but sometimes reverse is a bit hard to get into but no grinding at least.

I still need to know if pedal pressure will go down with more miles and if pedal pressure will increase or decrease as it gets closer or farther from the floor. Also would a 1g slave help the pedal pressure thing. This clutch was fantastic when first put in.The pedal pressure was very light .It is not pumping out I don't think unless my master bleed off is plugged up.

Resurrection once again,

My ACT2600 ate the original ACT street disc a while back and I replaced the disc with a 3500 street disc. All was well until that disc failed as well. Most likely the warped ACT pressure plate that caused the premature destruction of the second disc.

Anyways, I replaced the ACT setup with the SBR3500. Initially I liked the 3500 for its pedal pressure and good holding power but 4000kms later the clutch will not disengauge. Happend during an easy downshift on the highway tonight. I'll be tearing it appart first thing in the morning so I'll post some pictures of what failed. My guess off hand is a spring failure in the pressure plate.

So does anyone have any actual hard proven data on this clutch? Anyone with actual track testing and hp/tq numbers who have raced on this clutch? Anyone with a high hp/high tq awd car actually use one of these and have data? Just seems like a bunch of people with much to do about nothing with these.
