Im on a budget so Im planning on getting a SAFC2 to tune with. I was reading a thread and a guy said the knock sensor on the safc doesnt work on our car. Is this true? Also people where saying you shouldnt use this if planning to go over 350whp. When I went to the dyno for my bro's car they had a 700+whp supra running a safc2. So why cant our cars make this power on these. Im planning on staying under 400whp so is this a good choice.

Anyone saying you can't make more than 350 horse on this has obviously no clue how to use one. What starts to kill the AFC2 is when you start to go above 650cc injectors. This then starts to pull timing while it tries to compensate. 750cc is the absolute maximum in my opinion for the AFC2. You can get a tune out of it with 750's with very little timing pull but it takes alot of time and patience.

If you want the best bang for the buck it would be DSM link. With this you now have control of the timing as well. Are you staying with your 16g and 550's?

Yea im staying with the turbo, and was going to get some 650's. Ive been saving for AEM because the dyno shop and my mechanic just keep telling me how great it is. So for now I want something cheap. Plus I dont think I have eprom so I would need that, plus the dsmlink, plus a cheap laptop, I might as well invest in AEM.

650's are a wise choice for the Evo III 16g. This way you are not coming close to 100% IDC. Also, if you are saving up for an AEM you will be able to get a more precise tune out of the car. It sounds like you are on the right track. :thumb:
