safc1 problem. need help please

Hello guys. Let me try again. So I bring my car to Canadian tire for an oil change. After the oil change my car start to run like crap. it won't go over 3000 rpm. The car runs fine when I bring it in. I think the guy who did the oil change change may safc settings coz right now the rpm read 450 from the safc monitor but it read 1000 rpm on the factory tach. Please help me, Canadian tire don't know how to set safc too.

check your engine size settings it sounds like to me they may have been screwing with it and set the engine size from 4 cylinders to 6,8,or even 12......if they did that then the afc won't be able to correctly interpret engine speed which can cause the fueling to be way off scale even if you haven't changed the actual maps.........

I second that, Mine is set to two cyl even though it is a 4 but reads correct rpm, if I bump it to 4 it runs the same BUT my RPM is half of the correct RPM.

That's an indication that it was wired to one of the coil outputs for it's RPM input instead of the tach input on pin 109.

Thanks for that, I was a bit weirded by it myself. I notice no difference in the way the car runs when I put it to 4 cyl, It just halves the RPM.

And since the SAFC applies it's corrections by RPM and throttle opening it needs to read the right RPM.
