SAFC=Problems

Hey guys I just wired my safc up. And I was driving down the road and my battery light and break light came on I have had alternater issues before but its a brand new one I checked all fuses and eveything is ok. Ill do a voltage test here within the hour.will my safc give me a voltage reading

If youre asking if the SAFC is causing the voltage issue youre having, the answer is no. Regarding the SAFC being able to read and display voltage, to the best of my knowledge it does not. If your alternator and battery are in good shape, Id check to make sure your belt isnt slipping. Most of the time the belt will squeal loudly when its slipping but not always. Make sure the belt is tight enough and in good condition. On another note, if your alternator is new, but from the parts store (Autozone, Advance, etc) it may be bad anyway as many people, including myself have had trouble with parts store reman units and because of this, I recommend a Mitsu replacement. If you have a logger- which you better if youre hooking up an SAFC to tune- look at the voltage on the logger to confirm a functioning alternator. (voltage should be around 13.5 when the motor is running and warmed up)
