Hey everyone. I had my safc installed on my car and was tuning my 1990 tsi with a hacked 2g Mas. My tavh stopped working even after changing the noise filter twice. It would work then wtop again after a couple of weeks. Anyway i kept the safcinstalled to read my rpm. I just got dsmlink/ecmtuning v3 and still kept the safc hooked up to read my tach and other information. I have the afc zero d out. Will this cause any interference with my dsm link?

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all.:thumb:

He means to make sure the safc isn't changing any fuel trims. So basically set everything to 0 so dsmlink is the only thing that controls the tune. Kind of like having a safc and a maft combo, you would want the maft to be zeroed out while the safc does the tuning.[/QUI
not really sure I know what you mean by maft, kinda new to the dsm game so how would I clear the safc to let link control fuel?

Maft stands for Mass air flow while the T on the end being translator. It's basically a upgrade to our stock Mafs which also includes very slight tuning capabilities, nothing you would want to run without another source of standalone management though.

So if you say have a maft installed and are currently using it to set your tune on your car and you install a safc you will need to set all the knobs except for injectors on the matf to 0, that way the safc can then handle all the tuning itself.

The same thing when running safc and ecmlink(which I don't know why you would do it anyways)Link being the superior tuning device you would want to clear the safc out setting all fuel adjustments to 0% so it no longer controls the fuel trims. Then you can go in link and do all the tuning there.

However I recommend if you have ECMlink to just completely remove the safc it isn't going to benefit you at all. Basically think of ECMlink has safcs big brother from the future.
