I just installed my AFC NEO in my 1g everything works proprely but the check engine light is on.
it does not read output to the ecu from the MAF it does read input. So to make it short the engine runs like the MAF is unplugged

Perhaps because it is disconnected. The prior SAFC had two different sets of wires for the input signal, You had to use the right type and connect them in the correct direction since one wire is the input to the SAFC and the other the output to the ECU.

Did you read the manuals that came with the Neo? I'm not aware of a VFAQ for the Neo and it's slightly different than the prior versions of SAFC.

According to page 7 or the SAFC Neo wiring manual:
The Brown with white is the Karman output to the ECU.
The Black with white is the Karman input to the Neo.

I am having the same problem... On the neo.. which wire connects to the brown with white and the black with white? I followed these directions to a T.. http://www.vfaq.com/mods/gvr4_afc_instructions.html

Pin 10 from the VFAQ you referenced step 3.
3) Air Flow Signal: Cut the Green wire with a blue stripe

The end of that wire leading to the connector is the input to the ECU (Output of the SAFC).
The end of that wire leading to the harness is the input to the SAFC.

With that information and what I posted before, do you understand what you need to do?

I did it this way and it works perfectly :) Thanks, How does someone do a write up on how to install it on a 1st gen and post it in vfaq? I need to do that. Thanks for your help. I read somewhere that I need to raise the initial settings +5 all the way across the board is this true for my setup?

Based on your profile (basicly stock but with a 16G) you would start out a 0 across the board and then lean out the WOT high throttle setting by dialing in negative settings not positive. A wideband makes the process easy since you know where your AFR is as your tuning.

I also have three inch exhaust.. I need to fix my boost problem, but I dont want to pull my turbo off again..

Once my rpm's reach 5200, the boost builds to 22psi which in return causes it to obviously run very lean and start knocking..

Is there any other way to fix this besides porting the O2 housing and going with a 34mm flapper and also having to port the tubo so the bigger flapper can open all the way?

The SAFC can't fix the problem of running out of injector no matter how high you turn it up. If you boost creeping to 22 psi you need to do several fuel system upgrades staring with a bigger fuel pump and larger injectors. Your also going to be on the high end of a 1G MAF's operating range.

I plan on getting a 190lph and a set of 580cc's, I went by the junkyard the other day and picked up a 2nd gen maf and a 2gen fpr. I heard the fpr flows more.. Should I go with 580's or 650's? Also, does anyone know where I could get the tube or pipe that connect to the 2nd gen maf to my 16g, besides the one from sbr for $134? Has anyone made there own from home depot or lowes?
