I'm going to assume he was referring to the GTR which was running bottom 8's (8.2's to be exact) without a cage. So near 7's, but obviously the 1g is fully caged.

I have read about S&W's poor fitment, access to a bender would make for a better cage from what I've seen.

the diff in weight, chromoly is deff the way to go. my cage just got done during last summer. helmet bar and rocker bars were extra. Along with x in the door. window net is now included. cert for 8.50. measured myself and ordered from chris allston chassis works. tig welded it in with the help from a local chassis builder. i had my own dash made because im not a fan of the 1g dash but i do like the 2gs.

This was all bent when i ordered it. i just wrote down the measurements on there guided chart they give u online. Emailed it to them, and saw it the next week. i wanted it tucked as much as possible. When I shut my doors i didnt want to see the main hoop at all.

This Explains all the tubing. I added the helmet bar, it does not come with that.

Under Custom part worksheets, click on Roll Bar and cage that is highlighted in red. This walks u through and shows u how to measure from point to point for each bar on your cage.

Basically when i was measuring i was accounting for the room it would take for welding in those tight spots. It all about how crazy you want to get with it while still having room to work with it. Ill post some close up pics for you of my cage later.

Exactly. The NHRA rule book as far as caging goes was pretty much changed some for newer cars including the GTR that obviously run times that mandate a cage from the factory

My cage was built off the exact specifications out of the sfi rule book. Which the NHRA goes by.

would love to see a step by step on how you guys are installing these. Everyone's process is slightly different which is cool
