I have been debating which way to tackle this. My 1g awd rear subframe is the one big rusty area on my car. The eccentric bolt for the camber adjustment is so rusty, i know its never gonna budge or move and if it does its just going to snap. Also the support crossmember bushing is pretty much gone on the one side. I have been trying to decide whether to rip the hole thing out and apart and try and fix everything, just get better control arms or find a rust free complete rear subframe.

Has anyone delt with a rust rear subframe, mostly upper controls arms and fixed them? Looking for some advice on the best way to go about it from someone who has done it before. Sorry i dont have any pics at the moment to show the condition

well the control arms look to be the worst to where it bolts to the subframe, its rusted pretty bad to where im guessing its not going to come out without falling apart or being damaged. The accentric bolt is quite rusted as well so i know in its current condition, there's no way to do a rear alignment. I don't think its rotted to where its going to just crumble, but id say its in the in between phase of surface rust and complete rot

take a look at the first 2 pages of my build, had the same problem and remedied it with parts from stevie miller.

I would get a new subframe and take your time building it the way you want. You could powder coat it, or POR-15 the new one. Insert poly bushings, and build it the way you want. When your up to it, then swap it out. It is much better to swap out not due to necessity. Plus, you will have much less down time.

Id like to get a new subframe but thats usually easier said than done. Probably going to be pretty hard to find one thats close enough i can pick up.

tmoney20g you posted that you had a rear subframe shipped to you? How much did that end up costing you
