Rusted motor?

I picked up a 6bolt longblock that has been sitting outside for close to a year, and unfortunetly it has been rained on. When i drained the "oil", water had poured out. My question is, is this motor even worth rebuilding? I'm afraid that the inside of the block and everything else is rusted. If there is rust, how can I get rid of it and not hurt anything? When I get the block hot tanked, will that remove the rust? What about the head, etc?

Any help would be great,

Hot tanking should remove the rust. You need to take it apart and see how bad the bearing surfaces are. They may polish up, or it may be an exquisitely-machined boat anchor. However, it is worth looking over. It's all going to depend on where the water sat, and of course, why it was left in the rain to start with.
