Yep i should have known!
Today was the day i take care of that nasty rust spot on my strut tower. After some sanding i realized there was quite a bit of rust buildup.. So i grabbed a screwdriver and lighty started scraping some of it off and sure enough my screwdriver ended up going right through.

So whats my next move?
I need to scrape away more of the crappy metal around the hole right? Then clean up whats left and get a plate welded in there? I know it looks like you could just weld a bead there but look at the horizontle part under the hole is all facked up too.
Suggestions? Comments? Thanks

sand it as far as you can until there isnt much rust visible... then cut as much as you can... then weld another plate over it then grind it down to match (remember dont remove too much) then add a good coat of anti-rust coat and then id say bondo and primer then paint

Search "strut tower" in a titles-only search, and you'll find several walk-throughs that show how to repair this. It typically involves cutting out the rust and welding in new metal, or cutting off the entire tower and replacing it with one in better condition. It's a common rust point for 2G's, especially if your wheel well plastic is absent.

Well... I guess this post is to be continued with a followup...

I searched through those threads and i guess ill be hacking away at it this weekend.. :rocks:
