So I am having a bit of a problem and am looking for suggestions/ideas to see if I am looking in the right places. I had the car down for maintenance for a few months while I did a few things, (rebuilt the transmission, replace flywheel, had AN fitting welded to oil pan) the hole process took about 4 months. Prior to dismantling the car the car was running OK... It still needed some tuning done to get it to run where I want it at but it did run well enough to be a daily driver.
So I get the car put back together and for the first few days it runs good, didn't think anything of it. Then I started noticing an issue. Every now and then when you step on the gas from sitting still for a few seconds the car runs extremely rich, somewhere under 10AFR and sometimes stall out completely. It usually takes a few seconds of playing with the throttle to keep it running before it leans back out to where it should be. The more I have been driving it the more frequently it does this. I have found that if I free rev the engine a bit prior to letting the clutch out the car wont run rich, so it seams to run rich primarily under very low rpm when you apply a high load. Once you get moving the car is fine.
I have a lot of things done to the car and I am fighting the repercussions of doing too much too fast with out proper tuning. My biggest issue is that I did too many air flow mods done prior to fine tuning injectors or vice-versa... So what I am in the process of doing is dropping in a set of stock injectors and adjust the airflow settings to get the car to run correctly and then once it is running correctly drop my larger injectors back in, and re tune.
quick list of mods done currently
evo8 MAF
3" intake from MAF to turbo
E316G
custom intercooler piping and intercooler
ported /polished head
BC 272 cams
stock 450cc injectors (modified evo8s to flow 640cc will be going back in eventually)
99 ecu using ECUflash for tuning
exhaust
