"Rubbing" when rolling from a stop

Whenever I slowly accelerate (let out the clutch), or simply stop on an uphill slope, I hear like "khrrr" sounds coming from the front wheels. It's not wheel or tires rubbing or anything like that - I can't figure out what it is. Any clues?

Sounds like a wheel bearing, but with suspension it's hard to tell until you jack it up and try to move your wheels.
